At some point it will tell you to do this.

Unless I'm way off base, a 'network' is not a 'device'. Is it?
I regard a 'device' as a physical piece of equipment that attaches to your
network or a computer that hooks into your network.

Right the network is not the device but what is? Perhaps a restart of the computer?

In this context, I'd think more along the lines of restarting a router. I seem to recall seeing this sort of message when working in Airport Utility
?

This may look like a question for Brother support, but I've tried that and am hoping that there's a Mac expert here who can help.
I took advantage of a great sale to buy a Brother color laser printer. I was/am using a 5-year old Hp, with expensive toner and for which I have not found a decent compatible toner brand. I figured the time was ripe, because my toner is running on empty. I heard that Brother has excellent support and is compatible with Macs.
My first Brother printout was a brochure that I had printed on the Hp about 6 months ago. The colors were grayed, especially the lighter greens. It seemed as if there should have been an option to use less black. Thinking that the file may have gone bad for some reason, I sent it off to a friend who has an Hp. The brochure printed just right.
So, assuming that the unit was not working correctly, I exchanged it for another. Same problem. I spent 2 hours with various people at Brother, going all the way up to level 5 support. They were all very nice, and tried every single adjustment on the Mac and in the printer, all to no avail.
I like the speed, size, button layout and the fact that the paper feeds to the top of the printer, rather than out the back (If you saw my desk layout, you'd understand -- there is no other option). Plus, I like the idea of replacing the toner and drums separately.
So my question: Should I exchange it once again and try for a unit that mixes color better, or do all Brother machines use too much black in their color mixing? I've seen reports on the net that this may be the case, but I also see complaints about other brands. Is Hp the only printer that's likely to give me good color mixing? To be honest, if the brochure didn't have pale green, I might have missed this defect. Have any of you used this model printer without having greyed colors? Or, if the colors were wrong, were you able to make a correction that the Brother people missed?
I'm tempted to keep it, because all my printing is for charitable organizations and nobody seems to care. Unfortunately, I do.
Any magic will be appreciated.

Have been looking at some late used mac mini. the price of a used mini is about 550.00 for a unit with 4 gig of ram and a 2.5 to 2.8 core2 duo. the new I-5 mini is also near this price. how would the core2/2.8 compare with the new I5 mini? plus the mini comes with the latest software.
thanks

Just started really playing with the new Maps in iOS 6.
Question: How do I switch to the 'fly by' mode in one of the large
cities that supports it?
Can't find the method or means for the life of me.

I can't find any help on Apple forums and a search here for iCal 504 error came up with nothing useful. Clearly, I'm not alone with this problem. This is what keeps popping up in iCal:
The server responded with
"504"
to operation CalDAVAccountRefreshQueueableOperation.
I know someone has as answer for this. I'm finally giving in and switching to iCal but apparently don't know everything I should know.

Hi
I just solved this for someone else. What worked for her was export iCal archive then quit iCal. Goto sys prefs iCloud and turn off calendar synch. Say yes to the delete. Turn synch back on
Problem was solved for her and we threw away the backup archive since it wasn't needed

Twice in the past few minutes I've tried to open a link from my email to Facebook and when I click on the link, suddenly I have a screen FULL of blank pages calling themselves Untitled 1, Untitled 11, Untitled 39, etc. The only way I can get rid of them is to quit Safari. Is this a problem with Facebook or something screwy with my computer? I'm using a Mac Mini that I bought new this past spring.

OK, so I just went directly to the Safari icon in the dock and tried to open it. The same thing happened as when I tried to access Safari thru a link in an email. All of a sudden the screen was filled with internet pages, all titled Untitled 3(4/5/28/42, etc) but after a few seconds they had URLs in them and all were sites I've opened in the last many days. What's up? But once again, I had to do a force quit on Safari to make them go away.

+++++++++++

Somehow a bunch of tabs opened. Hold down the option key on your board and click the x on one of them
That should close all other tabs and then the program should behave normally

Please help me out regarding an issue I brought up in the past regarding the IPAD-Mail. When I create an email the drop down filter of email addresses show an incorrect email address listed there. My contacts in the address book show the correct email addresses. My computer shows the correct ones too. I'm puzzled and would like to get this resolved. Any help is appreciated!
