Thanks Dan and Randy. It is embarrassing to discover that the process is so simple.
The only thing in my defence is that "Window" is not where I would look when "Edit" is right there next to "File". To my surprise I found that Window>Address Panel opens my contact list in two clicks. I guess this shows that I have never mastered the computer keyboard; to me it is just a typewriter, the top row is a complete mystery :-)

I'm still on 10.6 Snow Leopard, so yours might be different. Window Menu > Previous Recipients. Highlight the ones you don't want and hit remove from list.

Sorry. I guess I hit send too soon, or it fouled up. I'm using 10.6, so it might have changed, but Window Menu > Previous Recipients. Chose the ones you want to get rid of and hit delete. Also a way of adding them to your address book if you so choose.

Especially if it does not show your post for a 24 hours and someone else post the same resolution 18 hours after you post yours. Not that it is a competition, but the OP could have their answer that much faster.

They are, but to judge from recent ones I have sent, they are sometimes posted out of the order you send them in and with a delay of several hours.

This is an old problem with Yahoo's mail servers that recurs every so often. It can certainly make threads hard to follow.

iMac 10,1 and iPhone4. I thought the iMac has a bluetooth broadcaster, so why doesn't my iPhone4 see the iMac? Both have Bluetooth turned ON.

Randy, that was an incredible suggestion. Yes, my iMac is now broadcasting the ethernet connection to my iPhone4. Surfing on the iPhone4 is blazing fast now. Using ATT surfing was so slow.

I thought why couldn't this be done, and it can. I am doing it without buying a WiFi broadcaster. My iMac is a WiFi broadcaster. Amazing.

If anyone wants the url it's:

Thanks, Randy.

I, too, am having a bunch of "issues" with Yahoo Mail and Yahoo
in general!

I've been with the Yahoo Mail program for 13 years, and each time
they make a change I swear I'm going to write them off. But I
stop and think of the hassle involved in changing my email
address and I just decide to try to work with Yahoo.

You are right about trying to reach someone. Some years ago it
used to be easy. Now it's like cracking a code to even send them
a request for help. I'm about at the end of my rope.

Unexpectedly, two days ago, the format and configuration of my
Yahoo Mail pages changed in many ways. The most glaring being
when I am reviewing "drafts" or "composing" new mail.

Suddenly, all the "tools" normally located at the top of each
page for "drafts" or a "new message" are found at the bottom,
(ie; italics, emotions, bold, underscore, etc.) and there is no
place to check, "save draft."

I have also lost about half the e-mails that I "sent" which
neither reached their destination, nor ended up in "drafts" or
"trash."

What is really confounding is a family member uses this same
computer, (PowerBook G4- 10.5.8), same browser, has a separate
Yahoo e-mail account but the same kind of account and nothing on
his pages has changed.

Of course I can reach President Obama easier than Yahoo.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, even if someone has a way
to e-mail Yahoo support and solicit some assistance from them.

Many thanks,

It made it through. It does not seem to be related to OS X. You posted about a bug fix for 10.8.5, but I have been having some of the same issues with delays of hours to a day or so with 10.7.5.

Using a web browser will not resolve it for me since I don't have a yahoo account. Give yahoo hell!

Howdy.

Yahoo seems to be having problems with messages. I'm not sure what the problem is. We'll try to find out.

I'm posting this while logged in to the group via a web browser rather than via email so I hope it gets posted.

Can anybody recommend a Usenet app for the iPad. I currently use Unison on my iMac which is great but the only iPad app I've found is NewsTap. The interface is clunky to say the least and I would rather wait till I got home to read the latest posts. However, a decent Usenet app would be very welcome as sometimes I would wish to respond to a post immediately.

I'm being tempted by OWC's used MacBooks and MacBook Pros as backup for my iMac. My original thought for backup (meaning in case it falls on the floor and shatters, not backup for HD) was a newer iMac that could mirror on my HDTV. I understand that it would have to be 2011 or newer. That's out of my price range, though, so an intel laptop to take over for my PPC G4 PBs is probably where I'll go.
My question: is there a year to avoid? They have a couple that are too old but a lot of 2009/ 2010 models. It would be nice to be able to get the newest with the biggest HD and most RAM but that isn't in the cards.
The other question: If I get a less expensive one (smaller HD) I can upgrade with an SSD kit. Is that a good idea? I really don't like the heat the G4s generate and have heard that the SSDs don't do it.

Any suggestions appreciated. I'll probably make a decision by the middle of next week.

The laptops at OWC come loaded with either Leopard or Snow Leopard. Am I remembering correctly that my iMac Lion OS cannot be installed on a MacBook? Would I have to upgrade at Apple?

As a reseller, OWC is limited to either installing the original OS. The all of the 2009 & 2010 MacBooks can run 10.8.

Get a copy of MacTracker to help you make your buying decision. It is donation-ware, and invaluable, so please make a donation. We almost lost it once from no income to the developer.

http://mactracker.ca/

Make yourself a spreadsheet of pros, cons, expenses, and options or mods to help with your decision. Between OWC and MacTracker, you should be able to dig up most of the information.

I have not seen or heard of a model specific version of any OS X, so that should not be a problem.
