Yes, Yahoo's mail service is screwed up. I got that message 2 days ago but
obviously not everyone did.

I run Windows 7 via Fusion 5 chiefly because I'm a sysadmin in a University and our service desk facility will only work in IE. Although our enterprise backup system console is Java based, it won't work with any version of OS X.

Oh, and occasionally I need to do some things with calendar sharing in Outlook 2010 that are not possible with iCal or Outlook 2011.

I used to use more Windows, because certain hardware manufacturers did not provide software to upgrade their hardware that was Mac compatible. I currently only use Windows to get audiobooks from the public library, that are only available in digitally protected formats for Windows only. Then I put it on a Windows formatted iPod mini to listen to.

I have never found the need to use windows based accounting software, so that is not understandable.

If you were competent in Windows, you can be competent in OS X.

There was another thread about what can you do in windows but not on a Mac

I'm am slowly moving to a mac and am heavily windows biased (solely due to familiarity )

So, why do some of you run windows as well on your mac? Exclude vitals such as the accounting software example as that's understandable

When I get to Mac I will despite my bias try to run only OSX.

Any feedback appreciated

People who've upgraded sequentially all the way from V1 or V2 of Fusion may befall a problem somehow related to the upgrade installer not clearing out previous preferences correctly. Fusion's support people have listed a Terminal command that can banish those remnants and permit the new Fusion V6 to start up correctly and completely.

Not to me, otherwise I wouldn't have sent the post about WordService on 11
Sep. Did you see *that*?

Yeap, saw it, too. It has been spotty as to what is delayed an hour or delayed a day.

You've responded to one or two posts, hours after I responded, but yours has made it to the list 2 - 18 hours before mine.

If it makes any difference, I use Apple Mail.app to read the posts, as I do not have a Yahoo account or ID. The issues started about they time they changed the quoting format.

The post you asked about below started,

I suppose you could copy a chunk of text from Pages to TextEdit, change it, and then copy it back, but how clunky is that?

It started,

"Howdy.

This is a weird issue in Pages and a significant feature that is
missing or doesn't work.

Fortunately there are multiple work arounds for changing case and other
editing functions.

Try WordService first and see what you think of it.

WordService

This a a great free Service utility.

I doubt it matters how we read and reply to posts. The problem seems to be
entirely with Yahoo.

From your last post and my reply, adjusting for time zone, we both received that one at the same time. But why does it seem that Dan is not seeing his own posts, but I am seeing mine, but many are delayed up to 24 hours.

My comment on the quoting is that the quoting style I am seeing in Mail.app currently, is not what I was seeing from the list a couple of weeks ago. The server has changed the format style of the quoting. As it does with how it presents some symbols.

I'm in Pacific Time Zone or GMT -7 and the times reflected here are in my time zone.

I got Otto's response to Dave C's post at September 14, 2013 3:18:54 AM PDT

I got Dave C's response to Hal9000's post at September 13, 2013 09:44 PDT

I got the Original Post from Hal9000 at September 12, 2013 23:56 PDT
and the lowest most received line in the headers say:
X-Received: from [10.193.94.105] by tg6.bullet.mail.gq1.yahoo.com with NNFMP; 12 Sep 2013 19:30:55 -0000

I don't know how to properly read that and I have no clue as to Hal9000's time zone.

I'd say yahoo is having a problem.
