It fixes the bypass-lockscreen issue, and a few other minor matters. Recommended for all users. Took only a few minutes to install.

Robert: You will find that switching to 'Pages
Pages reminds me of Word 5.1, which is the version (10 years ago?) where 'Word' hit its peak. It has, in my opinion, been going downhill ever since.
Try it; you'll like it!

This is only my opinion
Things I dislike about iTunes 11: Disgusting move from beautiful
10.
Playing Audio Books in landscape displays Music Albums
Things I really like of iOS7 on my iPhone4:
Smooth action.
Easy to double click, swipe up apps OFF. (Tons better than
before)
BLOCK Phone Contacts
Quick Swipe up the Control Panel for Camera, music player, etc.
Things I dislike about iOS7:
All text.
I don't think iPhone4 can adjust text as large as 5 and 5s can.
Blinding white backgrounds.
The manuals for the iOS7 are not phone specific,
therefore one doesn't know if a function is available for
the iPhone4 until you look at the iPhone4.
Overall iOS7 is much worth the change.
But you have no choice if you try to restore your iPhone.
Be sure once you go to iOS7, RESET Setting to default.
Then adjust settings. It saves a lot of weird behavior I ran into
after conversion.

Monday I wanted to restore my iPhone4 from backup on my iMac.
Apple responded:
There ain't no way I am going to redownload iOS6x in any version,
no way. And further, nothing but iTunes 11x will download iOS7 on
your iMac. SURPRISE!!!!
Guess we can forget about backward compatibility for awhile. After
all the downloading it helped to RESET all settings todefault,
then change to new settings.
I also have an iPhone 4 but haven't upgraded. (I've heard very
mixed reports.)
Aside from your possible dissatisfaction with iOS 7 itself, how
does the phone perform compared with iOS 6?
Thank you,
David

Not on my iPhone4. I like 7. I'm not sure what others are running
into. Mine seems smooth and fast.
Did I say I can't stand iTunes 11?
Did I say I can't stand Yahoo Groups new interface on a 27" iMac?

One more and I will stop:
We don't have a choice about upgrading to iOS7 if you plan on
storing a backup of your iPhone on your computer. And in order to
get 7 you must have iTunes 11 (drat) on your computer.

I wonder if it is because of adjustments you have made? (You mentioned you reset all settings to default.)

After downloading and opening iOS7, it appeared to operate very
clumsily. So I decided, just do the old RESET to default setting
of iOS7. It was smooth afterwards. Still is today after using for
three days.
I don't know if it helps, but I unsynced all
tv/movie/picture/
iPhone4. Then synced them later.

With Control Center, it hgas become terminally simple to change the brightness level.

1. Restore from backup, I'm pretty sure, does NOT restore the operating system.
2. Apple is not activating new installations of iOS 6.

My son has MacBook Air and had looked at the Samsung 21" monitor recommended here lately. Unfortunately, the monitor didn't have a Thunderbolt port, only an HDMI port and, of course, the MBA has no HDMI port.
A search for an HDMI to Thunderbolt adapter was fruitless, and a posting to the Apple Communities got no results.
Today, at a Best Buy store, I found a "Thunderbolt/MiniDisplay port to HDMI" adapter by Rocketfish
On the shelf. When I went to the Rocketfish website I found the adapter (RP-AP305) shown but there was no reference to Thunderbolt in the description.
The Thunderbolt and MiniDisplay ports look very similar. Are they interchangeable?

I'm surprised you couldn't find an HDMI-TB adapter. I got one from Amazon
UK for use with a standard HDMI cable. I use this to connect my MBP to the
TV so it needed to have audio support. The brand is Monoprice but there are
others. Here's a link to these at Amazon US.

Yes, TB uses the same port and plug as MIniDisplayPort.

Sorry, but I guess I don't grasp the point you're trying to make.
What Apple does with it's iOS doesn't translate into an iPhone v
android comparison. More to the point is the iOS6 v iOS7
comparison. So far I am not impressed with iOS7 for various
reasons.

Just show it to an android user ... they seem to like it just
fine!
