Jim,
The word pedestrian can be either an adjective it a noun. Obviously, basic
grammar, it is an adjective in my sentence. As an adjective, pedestrian
means dull, lacking inspiration or excitement.

Ah!
I was mis-led by the context (driving, cars, pedestrian(s)).

The fanboy article did mention other stuff. You guys have chev vs ford we down under have Holden vs ford, Holden is gm. With IT stuff its different. Anonymity in forums makes for aggressive comments at times.
What I admit I find annoying are comments made, when the poster admits never using the other device/OS. Can't see the logic in that.
There is no best OS or device or computer. They all have pros and cons, be nice to "discuss" for mutual enjoyment, knowledge exchange . Remember that we participate in this particular forum as we use apple/ like apple/love apple

Right, that's what I saw - thumbnails along the left hand side, and I clicked on the first one and it all worked then.
Thanks!

Thanks, Otto, I forgot about that and I have a different MBA with me on this trip. I was thinking about why I enjoy my Apple products so much this morning as I never got into Windows capabilities nearly as much as Mac capabilities. I concluded that a lot of Windows time was spent concerned about viruses and endless MS patches. Nice to be free from that, for the most part. I will admit that I am a bit smitten with this little 8" Windows tablet, but that is only because I needed a small tablet able to run Windows programs I need. Can't wait until Apple comes out with one. Would be well worth a price premium, these small Win8 tablets here in the USA are really inexpensive.

Bob,
You know, of course that there's a list at <http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1343>? You can copy/paste this into a file for quick reference, or download the same from <http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/macsupportcentral/files/Keyboard>
That said, these lists never seem to be absolutely complete.

Thanks, Randy. It is people like you that make using a Mac even more enjoyable. I must admit, I struggle DAILY with my MBP keyboard because of the missing PageUp/Down, End and Home keys. I can NEVER remember the shortcuts to replicate the PageUp/Down, End and Home keys (and I need them daily!). Must be a mental roadblock on my part, but very frustrating. I keep a little note on the desktop and will be adding at least some of these new ones to it. Strange in that I can remember a lot of other ones that I don't use daily.
AND, kudos to everyone on the list. I don't know what it is, maybe the relative smallness of the Mac community, but I certainly enjoy the Mac and iPad groups a lot more than any Windows/Android groups I belong to. Much more personable.

Excellent. I had to leave the Yahoo group due to non-stop off-topic posts.
