Simply Declare converts the purchase currency into home currency and arranges all the purchases as an alphabetized list. This app is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation) and iPad and requires iOS 4.2 or later. It costs USD 1.99.
Sticky Blocks (4.8/ 5): It has 300 puzzles and the gameplay is almost like classic block slider game. However, Sticky Blocks comes with the blocks of different colors and different sizes and they can be moved in different directions. Players need to guide the white piece to the corner red square for completing the puzzle. To spice things up, this game has hidden gems that need to be found and creatures that need to be rescued. Sticky Blocks Free needs Android 2.0 or up. There is also a paid version available with 600 levels.
Spy Fox in Dry Cereal (4.5/ 5): This is an action/ adventure puzzle where the players need to guide a spy fox that has all the awesome spy gadgets. His friends Monkey Penny and Quack provide clues from the Mobile Command Center as the fox takes on the Kid's cast of animal adversaries. However, players have to pay attention to the details for helping the hero succeed in his endeavor. Spy Fox in Dry Cereal is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, requires iOS 3.0 or later and costs USD 4.99.

MeMeTales, in partnership with PBSKids and publishers like HarperCollins, Orca Books, Shens Books and Little Pickle Press, is launching Readathon2012 to help kids read this summer. No matter where in the world they are, kids get access to Free books every single week. For every child that joins the Readathaon, MeMeTales will send a child to school for a day. Thanks to the generosity of the participating publishers, kids across the world will get access to complete books.
Cupertino, California - MeMeTales, in partnership with PBSKids and publishers such as HarperCollins, Orca Books, Shens Books and Little Pickle Press, is launching Readathon2012, to help kids read this summer, no matter where they happen to be. Readathon2012 will run from June 18th to July 28th. Participation in the Readathon is completely free and anyone can join in by creating an account on MeMeTales.com. During this period, MeMeTales will donate a meal (via FoodForEducation.org) for every child that joins in the Readathon.
Thanks to the generosity of the participating publishers, kids across the world will get access to complete books to read week after week through the MeMeTales website and apps. Kids earn stickers and certificates and track their reading journey. Parents receive specially created and theme based learning activity ideas created by educators and shared by partners such as PBSKids. In addition, several participating Readathon Leaders will post related learning activities and crafts on their own blogs.
Summer is an exciting time for kids. School is off and kids get to have fun. However, research shows that unless we are prepared and we present our kids with the right opportunities, kids can suffer from learning losses in the summer. In fact, on average, kids lose up to 1 month of training from their academic school year. Kids in low income groups stand to lose more in the summer as they lose access not only to school, but also meals at school and other healthy physical activity.
"This was a huge motivator for us," says Maya Bisineer, founder of MeMeTales. "We all want our kids to make the most of their days off from school, but again, would it not be awesome if we could support kids that are less fortunate? That was the reason we chose FoodForEducation as our non-profit partner. For every child that joins the Readathon, we help a less fortunate child go to school for a day by helping him/her with a mid day meal."
Maya also adds that the support from the publishers and the blogging community has been nothing short of amazing. "It is humbling. Everyone working around kids, books and literacy wants to help anyway they can". Allision McDonald, founder of No Time For Flash Cards says the Readathon is a perfect fit for her community. "Parents are always asking what is the number one thing they can do to support their children's education especially during the chaotic summer months. My answer is always the same - read," she says. "The MeMeTales Readathon makes this task so much fun that it doesn't feel like a task at all!"
Kristina is the founder of Toddler Approved. She is a mom of two (a preschooler and a toddler) as well as a National Board certified teacher (in Special Education). She says, "Not only is reading a great way to connect with kids, but it is also such a phenomenal way to help them learn and cultivate their vocabulary. I love sharing my love of books with others which is why I am so excited to participate in Readathon 2012! Free books, new resources, an opportunity to help others... how could we not participate?"

The Minneapolis Lakes app navigates the lakes by providing comprehensive information on what is available at the lakes and detailed maps pin-pointing each location. Using the built-in smartphone mapping and GPS, the app guides users to where they want to go. When users choose a location, they can immediately obtain directions.
New for this summer is a section within the Minneapolis Lakes app that allows users to search by the activity. App users can navigate to following activities: hang out at the beach, take the kids to a playground, fish from a dock, buy refreshments, watch birds, walk or bike around a lake, ride the Como-Harriet Streetcar, go on a picnic, see a concert at the bandshell, go to a movie at a lake, or rent a canoe or paddleboat.
According to Susan Metoxen, the app developer, "I wanted to create this app because the Minneapolis lakes make our city special. Whenever you fly over Minneapolis, the pristine blue water on the ground is what makes the city stand out as one of the most beautiful in the world. This app will help users learn what the lakes have to offer."
The artwork and much of the research for the app was done by Mary Nieting, a University of Minnesota senior in the Environmental Sciences program. According to Susan Metoxen, "We conducted extensive on the ground research in order to find all of the locations we included in the app. Even though I have lived in the Twin Cities my entire life I learned so much about the Minneapolis Lakes. Kudos to the early residents of Minneapolis who established a Park and Recreation Board to preserve and protect the lakes for all of us to enjoy."
