Eurasburg, Germany - Appologics today is delighted to announce the release of AirBeam 1.6, the next major release of their high quality video surveillance solution for iOS. AirBeam is an universal app for iPhones, iPads and iPods that streams live video and audio from the built-in cameras and microphones in amazing quality over a WiFi or 3G network. The stream can be watched on other iDevices, Macs or with a standard web browser. AirBeam runs simultaneously on any number of devices allowing flexible multi-camera and multi-monitor setups.
AirBeam 1.6 now introduces email alerts, triggered by motion and audio detection. When activated, AirBeam automatically takes photo snapshots of events taking place in front of the camera, attaches them to an email and sends it to a configurable email address. Even short video clips of the detected events can be recorded and attached to the mails. In case too much action is going on in front of the camera, a rate limiter allows to limit the number of emails being sent in a time period.
Additionally AirBeam 1.6 has been optimized for the iPhone 5 and iOS 6. It takes full advantage of the additional screen real estate and the performance the iPhone 5 provides. With this optimization it was possible to almost double the video encoding speed and frame rates compared to the previous version on an iPhone 4s, especially when streaming in HD resolution.

Heavenly sleep for babies - from Jerusalem - Published on 10/14/12
IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Jerusalem based startup, Parents2ParentsApps announces Bayu-Bay 1.2, a Russian version of their popular iPhone application "Sound Sleeper." Bayu-Bay helps babies get to sleep by playing soothing tones like rain, womb sounds, the ocean and many more, according to a timer and volume preset. Jerusalem, Israel - Parents2ParentsApps, developers of mobile applications for babies and their parents, is proud to announce that they have released "Bayu-Bay", a Russian version of their popular iPhone application "Sound Sleeper." (Bayu-bay is basically the Russian equivalent of a lullaby phrase like "Hush, little baby")
"Bayu-Bay" and "Sound Sleeper" help babies get to sleep by playing soothing tones like rain, womb sounds, the ocean and many more, according to a timer and volume preset. Not only that - at night the apps listen for the baby and start playing the sound parents have chosen, automatically, and for a set time period - the instant baby begins to cry.
"There are many white noise applications on the mobile market", says Michael Feigenson, founder of the company, "but our unique 'listen' mode really sets Sound Sleeper apart. We developed it based on our own needs, and this app saved us many times at night during our baby's first year. Since we released version 1.1 (the current version is 1.4, and version 2.0 is in the works), the feedback we get from parents all over the world is very inspiring."
After recognizing the strong business opportunity on the Russian mobile market, Parents2ParentsApps developed a Russian version of "Sound Sleeper", dubbed "Bayu-Bay" (pronounced "bayou-bye"). "Mobile device usage in Russia is among the highest in the world", says Feigenson, "and we wanted to reach an audience of young Russian parents. 'Sound Sleeper' is in use by thousands of contented parents all over the world and we are looking forward to seeing the reception of 'Bayu-Bay' by Russian-speaking users."
"We will be happy to send promotion codes to anyone interested in reviewing our work", notes Feigenson.

ABSmatic 1.1 for iOS: Add Six-Pack Abs to Any Male or Female Photo - Published on 10/15/12
IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Appdicted today introduces ABSmatic 1.1 for iOS, their photo-retouching app that is guaranteed to create sculpted, sexy, six-pack abs without a single sit-up. Users simply shoot a frontal photo or open a saved shot showing a bare midriff, and then choose from one of 36 different styles of abdominal muscles, which blends into the photo and appears completely realistic. Users control the abs' placement, size, opacity, brightness, and contrast within the new photo, which can be saved and shared.
Salt Lake City, Utah - Appdicted today is pleased to introduce ABSmatic 1.1 for iOS, their photo-retouching app that is absolutely guaranteed to create sculpted, sexy, six-pack abs without a single sit-up or any other exercise. Users simply shoot a frontal photo or open a previously taken photograph revealing the subject's bare midriff, and then choose from one of 36 different kinds of abdominal muscles, which blends into the photo and appears completely realistic. Users can easily control the placement, size, opacity, mirroring, brightness, and contrast of the muscles, creating natural-looking definition. Completed photos can be saved to the Photo Library, printed, shared by email, or posted to Facebook, Tumblr, or Twitter.
Creating impressive looking abs, even under clothing, is easy with ABSmatic. Working in landscape orientation on the iPad or portrait orientation on the iPhone, the first step is choosing a photo. The user can shoot a live photo from within the app for retouching, open a previously saved pictured from the Photo Library, or practice on one of the included Sample photos. The second step is selecting from among the various abs available - 15 different styles for men and 21 for women. Scrolling down the right side of the screen, each group of abdominals is highly detailed with shadowing that brings out the muscle definition. Most include a small, round dark spot for the navel, which serves to help align the overlay.
Third, the user places the muscle overlay over the photo, positioning and sizing it to fit. This can be done quickly, with drag to position and pinch to expand or contract. The real magic happens in the fourth and last step, blending the abs into the picture perfectly using the opacity tool. Opacity of the muscles can be controlled from 0 to 100%, allowing completely undetectable retouching. Brightness and Contrast controls are also available to compensate for lighting conditions, natural shadows, exposure, skin-tone, etc. The app also offers an eraser tool, so you can erase parts of the abs that overlap clothing. Users can have the abs disappear under a shirt and/or pants. Having achieved the perfect effect, the user can save the retouched photo to the Photo Library, print it, or access the app's integrated, social network connectivity to share their work on Facebook, Tumblr, or Twitter, or directly by email.
Feature Highlights:
* Over 35 different Male and Female ABS
* Fine Tuning Tools, Eraser, Opacity, Reset and Flip
* Social integration with Facebook, Twitter and Email
* Optimized for Retina display devices
* Universal iOS App (iPhone/iPad)
"Appdicted has perfected the process of adding convincing details to photos with their best-selling iOS apps, Hairstyle Salon and Tatoo You," stated CEO Rory Boyer. "And now, not even photo experts will question the six-pack abs you create in ABSmatic."
Device Requirements:
* iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
* Requires iOS 5.0 or later
* Universal app optimized for display on all iOS devices
* 32.4 MB
Pricing and Availability:

* Universal iOS App (iPhone/iPad)
* 32.4 MB
Pricing and Availability:

SCSC Releases a new introductory video on Scannerz for Mac OS X - Published on 10/15/12
IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Software and Computer System Company, LLC has released a new video on their product, Scannerz for Mac OS X. Scannerz is an analysis tool utilizing advanced diagnostic algorithms that analyzes not only the hard drive, but the circuitry supporting the drive. The video covers Scannerz basics, including startup, familiarization with the interface, the logging window, global preferences, and more. This video replaces several others on their site and is in high resolution 1280 by 800 QuickTime format.
Reston, Virginia - Software and Computer Systems Company, LLC, (SCSC) has released a new introductory video of their product, Scannerz for the Mac OS X Operating System. The video is recorded in 1280 by 800 pixels in a high resolution QuickTime format. The video illustrates the basics of Scannerz, as well as some of the more interesting features of the product, such as detecting problems related to a bad drive cable.
"Many people are under the impression that Scannerz is for engineers and technicians," stated an SCSC spokesman. "Scannerz, being fault detection software, isn't limited to simple surface scans used by other products, but the product is easy to use, and with this video, we hope to demonstrate just how easy it is to use. In the video, we quickly go over the basics of the interface, the basics of running a hard drive test in both normal and cursory modes, and conclude the video illustrating tests on both a bad drive as well as a drive that's in good working order but has problems being caused by a bad I/O cable. In the latter case, most other products on the market will never even be capable of detecting problems that Scannerz is capable of detecting. All of the things we illustrate in this video can be done by nearly anyone, and no, you don't need to be an electrical engineer or an electronics technician to use the product."
"The video is 1280 by 800 pixels in QuickTime Movie format. Those with newer operating systems, such as Lion or Mountain Lion will need to download the QuickTime 7 package from Apple, which should occur automatically once the link to the Intro video is clicked, if it isn't already installed. Although this movie format is somewhat dated, the fact is the resolution available in this format was just too good not to use. In this mode, the text in the log files can be clearly read because the sometimes aggressive compression used other formats tends to blur it, almost to the point of being unrecognizable."
The video covers the following topics:
* Scannerz basics, including startup, familiarization with the interface, the logging window, global preferences, and the help section
* The differences between normal and cursory mode tests
* Performing a normal mode test
* The normal mode summary report
* Cursory mode tests and tesing
* Evaluation of a drive with bad sectors
* Evaluation of a drive with a bad I/O cable
The video is large in size and will require a high speed connection to be viewable. The video is approximately 27 minutes in length and is intended to be seen on Macintosh Systems running OS X.

Addiction Recovery (ARP) - Moral Inventory App for iOS - Life Inventory - Published on 10/15/12
IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Indie LDS developer James Hollender's Life Inventory iPhone and iPad apps provide an organized way to create a Moral Inventory, a requirement of step 4 in the Addiction Recovery Program (ARP). Following the detailed instructions, the user is gently guided through the complex requirements needed in order to complete a thorough Moral Inventory. These Lifestyle apps can also be used by non-12-steppers who want to learn more about themselves than they ever thought possible.
Revere, Massachusetts - Indie LDS developer James Hollender's Life Inventory iPhone and iPad apps provide an organized way to create a Moral Inventory, a requirement of step 4 in the Addiction Recovery Program (ARP). Following the detailed instructions, the user is gently guided through the complex requirements needed in order to complete a thorough Moral Inventory. These Lifestyle apps can also be used by any 12- or non-12-steppers who want to learn more about themselves than they ever thought possible. The Life Inventory for iPad app was named Top iOS app No. 3 for 2012. This and the iPhone version are Lifestyle apps that guide users in creating their own Moral Inventory, which can provide greater self-understanding of their personality, strengths, and weaknesses. These apps allow the user to learn more about themselves than ever thought possible and at only a small fraction the cost of a single visit to a therapist.
The process of completing a Life (Moral) Inventory does not directly address anyone's specific problems or addictions, but rather helps the user examine in detail events that have transpired in their life. The Life Inventory app gently assists the user in probing into not only what happened, but also why it happened. The questions asked help the user delve into areas often never considered before, like:
* What did I want?
* Why did I want it?
* What am I not admitting?
* What lie did I tell myself?
* What did I leave out or not say?
* What lie did I tell others?
* Have I ever done the same thing?
* Was it any of my business?
* Were my expectations reasonable?
* What was the real truth?
* What was I not seeing?
* Did I fail to see the facts of the situation?
* What actions did I take to get what I wanted?
* What actions did I omit to get what I wanted?
The Life Inventory apps guide the user through six different steps, each with its own activity grouping, for making a Life Inventory in writing:
* Build Lists
* Causes and Effects
* My Part
* Fears Analysis
* Fear Questions
* Sex Relations
Throughout the process, users are encouraged to be completely honest about themselves. The Inventory begins by making one simple list, which defines four fixed Categories in which to file away what are broadly categorized as Incidents:
* People
* Institutions and Organizations
* Principles, Ideals and Beliefs
* Sources of Anxiety and Excitement
Each of the four Categories will contain hierarchical sub-categories. From there, users outline Entities and then individual Incidents.
Step-by-step, users complete the Causes and Effects of each Incident. Next, users determine the part they played in each Incident listed. It is not unusual to create hundreds of Incident forms, each devoted to a single incident. The app includes the ability to create and save all written lists and forms with password protection. Having completed all their Incident forms, users can refer to these forms to help list all their Fears. The app includes the following eight pre-defined fears, to which the user is free to add:
* Other people's opinions
* Not getting what I want
* Not having control of the situation
* Financial insecurity
* Abandonment
* Physical harm
* Failure
* Success
The fifth step is examining each Fear category and answering the following key questions:
* Why did I have this fear?
* When did I first notice this fear in my life?
* How did I hold on to this fear?
* What did this fear make me do?
* What chain of circumstances did this fear set in motion in my life?
* How did I react to this fear?
* What decision did this fear cause me to make?
* How did self-reliance fail me?
* What should I have done instead?
And the sixth and final step is examining Sex Relations, where users answer all the following questions regarding each of their sexual relationships:
* How was I selfish?
* Where was I dishonest?
* Where was I inconsiderate?
* Who was hurt in this situation?
* Did I arouse jealousy, suspicion, or bitterness?
* Where was I at fault?
* What should I have done instead?
* What will I do in the future?
* Did I pray or have spiritual conversations with him/her?
* Did I pray for him/her?
* Did I enjoy his/her company?
* Did we bring each other closer to God?
"The process of completing a Life Inventory doesn't directly address anyone's specific problems or addictions, but rather helps the user examine in detail events that have transpired in their life," stated indie developer James Hollender. "The Life Inventory for iPad app gently assists the user in probing into not only what happened, but also why it happened."
Device Requirements:
* Compatible with iPhone and iPod touch
* Requires iOS 4.3 or later
* 12.5 MB
Pricing and Availability:
Life Inventory for iPad or Life Inventory (for iPhone or iPod touch) is $9.99 (USD) and available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Lifestyle category. A Lite version of each app is $1.99, a supplement that provides a mock Moral Inventory from which the user can learn by example and experimentation. Review copies are available on request.

Do More With Locations Using Geo-Tagged Reminders in Localscope v3 - Published on 10/15/12
IMMEDIATE RELEASE
In its newest version update, Localscope integrates with the iOS Reminders system to let users set location based reminders at any discovered location to receive proximity based push notifications. Localscope v3 also aggregates and presents all location based reminders from the Reminders app as search and discovery sources allowing the consumption of reminders and todos in a novel geographic perspective. V3 is completely re-engineered around the new iOS6 and integrates with the new Apple Maps.
Mumbai, India - Cynapse is excited to announce version 3 of the iPhone location browser app, Localscope, an update that empowers users to better remember things to do at or around locations. Localscope now integrates with the iPhone's reminders system and lets users set location based reminders at any discovered location. Users can choose to be alerted by push notifications on arrival at, or departure from the location and even categorize the reminders into lists from within Localscope. Beyond adding reminders, Localscope aggregates all location based reminders from the reminders app and presents them as search and discovery sources in Localscope. This lets users visualize reminders as location points using the 3 unique views of Localscope and take further actions on the reminders like getting directions to the points using any of the integrated navigation apps.
"Our goal with Localscope is to provide the ultimate tool to discover and visualize various forms of information about the users' vicinity and apply this information in increasingly useful ways to their daily lives. With the new Version 3, Localscope takes a big step towards this goal." said Apurva Roy Choudhury, CEO, Cynapse. "The bi-directional integration with the the iPhone reminders system opens up a large number of unprecedented uses and possibilities for both apps. For eg. Localscope could be used to quickly create a list of new restaurants a user would like to visit someday, and get alerted if any of them happen to be in the users proximity any time in the future. Localscope could be used to create a trip itinerary by searching for diverse points of interest across social networks and search engines and adding reminders to them. Besides being available in the Reminders app, this itinerary can be viewed in a nearest to farthest distance sorted list or plotted on a map in
Localscope, for easy destination selection or navigation routing during the travel."
Localscope v3 has been completely re-engineered around the new iOS6 to take advantage of its new features like native sharing integration and native Facebook authentication, and flaunts an updated user interface to better match the new iOS 6 design. With v3, Localscope now integrates with the new Apple Maps app by letting users open points of interest found in Localscope into the Maps app for turn by turn directions or visual exploration using the awesome new 3D flyover view. Besides Apple Maps, Localscope v3 also integrates with the mobile web version of Google maps and along with integrations with most major navigation apps, now provides the broadest set of alternatives for mapping and directions to the user.
Furthermore, Localscope v3 brings a new search and discovery source by Factual, one of the largest location infobases in the world, and a cool new view for iPhone compatible car receiver HUDs produced by JVC, Pioneer, Sony and most major car audio manufacturers. This new view is available in all supported secondary displays, and even works with the AppleTV over Airplay mirroring.
Localscope has also been updated to work beautifully on the new larger screen of the iPhone 5. A complete list of What's New in v3 is available on the App Store.
Pricing and Availability:
Localscope 2.5.1 is available for $1.99 USD (or equivalent amount in other currencies) exclusively on the App Store in the Navigation category.

New Skinflint - UK's 1st tech-focused price comparison app - Published on 10/15/12
IMMEDIATE RELEASE
From headphones to hard drives, TVs to Tablets, Servers to Soundcards, Skinflint enables shopping for tech by spec or barcode on the go. Skinflint tells shoppers whether the scanned item is cheaper and in stock from other retailers nearby. The app's geo location services then enable shoppers to plot their route to pick up their product at the cheapest price via Google Maps. Each item is listed with transparent, total product pricing, including online retailers' delivery charges where relevant.
London, United Kingdom - The cheapest prices from over 850 technology retailers across the UK can now be compared on iPhones, iPads and iPod touches using Skinflint, a new app for technophiles. Shoppers can use the app to search for hardcore IT hardware or consumer tech by spec, barcode or brand name to compare prices from major chains, online retailers and hundreds of independent retailers across the country. The app also enables shoppers to view offers from across the EU.
Technology shoppers can make the most of their high street, shopping centres and retail parks by comparing prices on-the-go using the mobile app's barcode scanner on items they spot in stores. Skinflint tells shoppers whether the scanned item is cheaper and in stock from other retailers nearby. The app's geo-location services then enable shoppers to plot their route to pick up their product at the cheapest price via Google Maps.
Each item is listed with transparent, total product pricing, including online retailers' delivery charges where relevant. Skinflint also provides in-depth price history graphs, enabling users to check to see how the price of the product and other similar products have changed over time. A full technical specification and access to reviews from both consumers and industry professionals help shoppers to understand exactly what they're buying and what they're paying for, before making a purchase. Skinflint's social media functions enable shoppers to brag about the money they've saved on purchases made via Facebook, Twitter and email directly from the app.
David Boston, UK Country Manager for Skinflint, said: "The ever more diverse specifications and functions of technology products confuses customers who often find themselves spending money on products that are either over or under the spec they need. Rather than being limited to comparing products by brand or name, the Skinflint app enables shoppers to search directly by their required specifications and functions. It then provides shoppers with the products that match their criteria - cutting down both the unnecessary expense and the time the shopper has to spend researching to find the product that's right for them. Consumers that want to shop by product can go to a store, get out their camera-enabled iPhone, iPad or iPod touch and use Skinflint to scan their chosen purchase's bar code. Skinflint then tells them which retailer has the product nearby, in stock and at the lowest price.
"Independent retailers are often overlooked in favour of major retailers in spite of the fact that they may be providing a better deal. Skinflint levels the playing field by comparing prices from high street brands, online retailers and independent specialists to provide the UK's most comprehensive app for technology price comparison."
Skinflint's features include geo-location services, a barcode scanner, current and historic prices, user ratings, discounts, delivery time and stock availability filters. The app enables technology shoppers to make informed decisions about the products so they can get exactly what they want at the best possible price.
