Totmob Releases Plekos for iOS and Android Devices - Published on 10/18/12

The game, which is available for iOS and Android tablet devices and smart phones with larger screens, was launched on iTunes and Google Play earlier today. Plekos is a carefully crafted replica of a very traditional soccer game. In this mobile version the user can play against the machine, or against a friend on the same device. The game can also set up a championship for up to eight people on one device.

Rio De Janeiro, Brazil - Totmob, a division of Kinetics, has announced the release of the Plekos mobile game. The game, which is available for iOS and Android tablet devices and smart phones with larger screens, was launched on iTunes and Google Play earlier today.

Plekos is a carefully crafted replica of a very traditional soccer game. The original game is made out of a shallow wooden tray, with nails representing players. There are spaces cut out for the goals and the ball is usually a coin, or a bottle cap. In this mobile version the user can play against the machine, or against a friend on the same device. The game can also set up a championship for up to eight people on one device.

"When I was a kid we used to spend hours playing this game," said Orlando Shorter, founder of Kinetics and Totmob. "In the days where video games weren't around and we used to play on doorsteps and in the street, a bottle cap soccer board meant hours of fun. They were lovingly made with the help of an elder brother or a dad. We hope that this game can recapture that feel, by bringing a bunch of friends together around a tablet."

Visual Treatment:
Totmob has given the game a nostalgic touch by using plenty of wood textures and cutouts. At the same time all the menus are very clear, making it an easy game to navigate. There are some nice touches, like over 60 flags to choose from when setting up your team, which means that you're certain to be able to play with your team's colors. When a goal is scored, the animation is over the top, adding to the fun.

Sound Effects:
The game has a basic soundtrack, consisting of a crowd that murmurs all through the match, shouts when there's a near miss, and cheers loudly when a goal is scored, while a sport commentator shouts "Goal!" A referee's whistle sound marks the start and end of the game.

Gameplay:
You can play from the get-go by tapping "QUICK PLAY," or you can set up a championship with your friends. By adjusting the settings on the first screen and tapping "NEXT" the process is very simple. To play you flick the bottle cap forward by running your finger over it, swiping it in the direction you want it to travel. The game physics are very realistic.

Sandcrater Software releases MiniECal iOS app for Exchange users - Published on 10/19/12

Ithaca, New York - Sandcrater Software is pleased to announce the release of their MiniECal utility application for iOS. MiniECal is a Microsoft Exchange calendar assistant that allows users to view the calendars of other users on the same system.

"In many organizations, the need for some employees to view the calendars of other employees is a requirement," says Ron DiNapoli, owner of Sandcrater Software. "Such functionality is not possible using the built in Calendar application in iOS." MiniECal provides this added functionality and is intended to be used as a supplement to, but not a replacement of the iOS Calendar application.

Version 1.0 of MiniECal allows a user to view another person's calendar in a list view for a configurable number of days in advance or for a specified date range. Additionally, MiniECal will allow the user to specify an ad-hoc "group" of users whose calendars can be retrieved all at once. In this mode the user can cycle through each calendar quickly in list view. Future versions of MiniECal will allow for simultaneous side-by-side graphical views of all users in the group.

MiniECal has been tested with Exchange 2010 server as well as Office 365. Support for Exchange 2007 Server will be available in a future release.
