You should be able to get 10.5.8 through "Software Update"

Hi Glenn,
Well this is weird. I turn on Disk Utility and I do not see Time Capsule in the list to work with. Even with an ethernet cable connected directly to Time Capssule from the MacBook. Hmmmm. I wonder if it might be a hardware problem now.
