Inspired by fellow Aussie company Halfbrick's Fruit Ninja, the objective of Mega Bee involves the rescue of Princess Bee in the ninja way. Or whatever other way works via power ups and items purchasable with in game currency. Written on the popular cocos2d platform for iPhone, it is best described as a fast swiping game with objectives including collecting as much gold and items as possible on a time limit, whilst avoiding hazards such as bears, birds, cars, spiders, ghosts and a fiery dragon.
The entire game was conceived, designed and developed by an ex-stock trader who has worked on enterprise software projects and can consume a gallon of strawberry ice cream whilst playing board games. In regards to the the future direction of the company, the managing director offered the comment, "With (Mega Bee) we are aiming for the casual gamer who loves to collect stuff. Our games are suitable for all ages and ad free. I'm hoping the economics work in keeping things that way for the years ahead."

The gameplay features strategy-centered, turn-based combat where each warrior in a player's group has his own variety of skills that he can use to defeat his opponents. As the game progresses players recruit new warriors and strengthen their existing warriors with a variety of new skills and items that can be gain as the rewards of successful combat.
The player's main character, the captain, has a special ability system, where instead of using skills he has selected when gaining levels, he draws cards from a deck that the player builds for him. This adds further customization and variety to the game. The cards allow him to do a wide variety of things such as summoning droids, strengthening his allies, and dealing damage to his foes. The cards are collected by winning battles and visiting shops that the player discovers as they explore the planet.
