But obviously, the speculation never materialized. Like other iPads and iPhones before it, the iPad mini only comes in two colors: white and black. White versions sold out shortly after pre-orders began Friday morning, and black 16GB minis sold out today. iPad vs Surface boot speed test Posted: 27 Oct 2012 12:57 PM PDT Just a few minutes ago, I pitted the newly released Microsoft Surface against the 3rd generation iPad with Retina Display. Keep in mind that neither tablet is a slouch when it comes to specs, and that this isn’t exactly a scientific test. Still, some of you might be surprised as to which tablet came out on top in a cold boot speed test. Photographing light trails with your iPhone and Slow Shutter Cam Posted: 27 Oct 2012 05:00 AM PDT Welcome back to our lessons in iPhone Photography. I hope you enjoyed injecting a little motion into your iPhoneography over the last couple of weeks. This week, I want to continue on the theme of motion and pushing the limits of your iPhone. As a photographer, especially an iPhone photographer, your creativity often comes to an end when the sun goes down. Even with the iPhone 5′s improved low light capabilities, making images at night isn’t where your iPhone excels. In today’s lesson, I hope to change that. At night, there’s nothing more fun than photographing light trails. Here’s a quick example of light trails that I shot this week. The idea is simple: stabilize your iPhone and photograph cars as they drive by.
