A look back at WWDC banners over the past 11 years Posted: 09 Jun 2013 06:19 PM PDT Tomorrow morning, Tim Cook and company will take the stage for Apple’s annual WWDC keynote. And looking at the recently hung banners, they’ll use at least part of the event to show off a new version of OS X and a redesigned iOS 7. The banners have become a staple at the Conference, offering up subtle clues and not-so-subtle clues of what’s to come. Not only is it the first day of WWDC, but the Cupertino company will also be giving a keynote speech in which it’s expected to make a number of announcements. As presumed, there won't be a live video stream of tomorrow's media event. And a clip of the keynote won't likely be available until hours after it's over. Google reportedly set to buy Waze for $1.3 billion Posted: 09 Jun 2013 01:00 PM PDT An Israeli newspaper is reporting today that Google has won the bidding war for the popular crowd-sourced navigation app Waze. The two companies are in the process of finalizing an acquisition deal said to be worth $1.3 billion. The report comes after several months of speculation that Waze was in buyout talks with a number of tech giants including Apple, and more recently Facebook—all with price tags in the neighborhood of a billion dollars…(...) Gruber: all the iOS 7 leaks are wrong Posted: 09 Jun 2013 11:08 AM PDT During this week’s episode of The Talk Show podcast, well known Apple dot connector and author of the popular blog Daring Fireball John Gruber offered up a few tidbits he’s heard about what Apple may unveil at its WWDC keynote tomorrow. While he notes that he has heard very little about what Apple has in store for this year, Gruber says that he has heard from somebody who is familiar with the company’s plans that “all of the leaks are wrong” in regards to iOS 7…(...)
