Vancouver, Canada - Do we need another Social Network? According to PaigeeWorld39;s 100,000 active members in 2013 - Yes! Now growing by almost 25,000 new members per month - PaigeeWorld is the new standard for sharing art and communicating with other artists.
This month PaigeeWorld added new features for even better communication. PaigeeDraw now supports hashtags, and user to user communication through the publicly readable replies "@username " feature similar to Twitter.
What is PaigeeWorld?
PaigeeWorld is an iOS Social Media application for Artists to meet, learn and share. Artists use PaigeeWorld to submit their art to their followers/fans/friends. 10's, 100's, or 1000's of members can potentially comment and like the drawings submitted. Some individual members have over 20,000 unique followers. When an artist submits a new drawing, it immediately is posted to all of their followers walls, as well as the "Recent Feed", where everyone can see it. Almost immediately after art is submitted, hundreds and possibly thousands of people see it, and can instantly start interacting with the drawing. This type of interface / environment is unique to PaigeeWorld.
PaigeeWorld has over 500 drawing tutorials for different styles and techniques(related to Manga / Anime and Cartooning) created by young artists from around the world. Tutorials are included for traditional and digital drawing. Traditional drawing tutorials are also available for markers, pencils, crayons and watercolors.
PaigeeWorld sponsors contests and prizes for the community. Almost every month PaigeeWorld has a new contest to inspire and encourage members to start creating. With prizes including Copic Markers, Marvy Uchida Markers and PaigeeDraw online store coupons thousands of members enter. With our new hashtag feature - members are encouraged to create their own contests or challenges for other members.
PaigeeWorld is a community for all ages. Only age appropriate drawings are allowed to be submitted. PaigeeWorld is a safe community for our Members. To keep PaigeeWorld a safe application for all members, PaigeeWorld employs a number of safety mechanisms including:
* Over 25 Moderators who review all art submitted, and moderate the drawings and comments.
* Mechanisms within the application so that ALL MEMBERS can report individual drawings or comments directly to the moderators.
Who created PaigeeWorld?
PaigeeWorld was created by 18 year old Paige Rohrick, and her team at PaigeeDraw Inc. Paigee started PaigeeDraw when she was 15 years old, and has been improving it ever since. App makes Dads smile on Father's Day with personalized greetings in song - Published on 06/09/13
IMMEDIATE RELEASE
New app, AcoustiCards 1.9, sends professionally produced, personalized musical greetings in minutes, from an iPhone or iPad, to anyone. Father's Day is approaching faster than you can say 'You're not going out in that' and the folks at AcoustiCards are offering free songs to cheer the grumpiest old men, plus personalized ones for around half the cost of posting a paper card. Perfect for birthdays, or simply 'I love you', AcoustiCards take just a minute to make but can be treasured for years.
Hitchin, United Kingdom - New app, AcoustiCards 1.9, sends professionally produced, personalized musical greetings in minutes, from an iPhone or iPad, to anyone.
Father's Day (June 16th) is approaching faster than you can say 'You're not going out in that' and the folks at AcoustiCards are offering free songs via their website to cheer the grumpiest old men, and reducing the price of sending a full length song from their app by over 25% for Father's Day. From Monday 10th to Sunday 16th inclusive, a full two-minute song with a name and much more personalization will cost just 1.49 (UK) or $1.99 (US).
AcoustiCards are bringing cheer around the world, to folks like comedian Marcus Brigstocke ('Wow!! For me!? But how? That's awesome") to singer Tom Robinson ("This made me smile") and leading technology commentator Adam Engst ("I found a huge grin breaking out on my face as I listened to my song... Give it a try!")
The AcoustiCards 1.9 app has been developed by award-winning Hertfordshire-based radio producer, Paul Arnold. He was facing some tough times eighteen months ago when he decided to throw his money and energy into creating a unique personalized musical greetings app. Paul brought his skills in audio production, music and interactive projects together to create AcoustiCards, an iPhone and iPad app that seamlessly mixes hundreds of options into its songs.
Paul says, "Having an idea for an app, is in many ways, the modern equivalent of having an unfinished novel in a drawer somewhere. To see the smile on people's faces when they get to a line in the song that is perfect for them - that makes it all worthwhile."
AcoustiCards is growing and welcomes ideas for songs, or approaches from a singer or a band who would like to be involved.
Notes To Editors:
* The AcoustiCards app is free to download for iPhone, iPad and iTouch
* Recipients do not need to download the AcoustiCards app to access their songs
* Users can preview as many personalized AcoustiCards musical greetings and jingles as they like before making their selection
* Songs cost from $0.99 to $2.99 to send
* For more information or to arrange an interview with app creator Paul Arnold, please contact Paul by phone or email
* To hear example cards, please visit AcoustiCards online
About the creator:
Paul Arnold is a radio producer and engineer with three Sony awards and an equal number of BBC Innovation awards to his name. Working two days a week making trails and packages for BBC Radio 4 and 4 extra, he freelances the rest of the time. His previous work has included Chain Gang, the bite-sized radio drama told by its listeners, and Easter Diaries, winner of a 2012 Jerusalem award at BAFTA in October. More details can be found at Pictures in Sound online.
Story of production:
Having an idea for an app up your sleeve is, in many ways, the modern equivalent of having an unfinished novel in a drawer somewhere.
With a background in audio production, music and interactive projects, Paul wanted to create something that would let people send a personalized song as a gift or greeting. From the initial idea of taking requests for songs by email (too expensive) to doing versions of 'Happy Birthday' (too complicated in terms of rights, apparently) the idea gradually focused down into an iPhone app which could seamlessly mix hundreds of options into the song.
Nearly a year after the process begun and an awful lot of learning, (Paul last programmed a computer when the keys were made of rubber and you saved your work to cassette), AcoustiCards was launched in November 2012.
Language Support:
* English, German, Northern Sami, Spanish
Device Requirements:
* iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
* Requires iOS 5.0 or later
* 5.6 MB
Pricing and Availability:

Helsinki, Finland - Popular music app developer Musopia has confirmed its support of the guitar industry by joining the Guitar and Accessories Marketing Association (GAMA) for 2013. The purpose of GAMA is to build a robust guitar industry through the promotion of guitar playing, and Musopia is working to further this objective as a member of the 80-year-old industry association. GAMA pursues its goal through the introduction of programs that support guitar education in schools. Through its support of GAMA, and with its educational music app offerings, Musopia is ensuring a strong market for guitar products for years to come.
"Musopia is proud to support GAMA's mission to help tens of thousands of children receive guitar instruction each year," said Paula Lehto, marketing director for Musopia. "GAMA is creating a musical legacy that will last decades."
"The mission of Musopia is the same as GAMA's - we want to give people a better chance to enjoy making music," Lehto said. "Our FourChords Guitar Karaoke app makes learning to play new songs easier than ever before, which keeps beginner guitarists motivated and having fun. The faster they can learn to play the songs they love, the more excited they are to learn more."
Musopia has received excellent feedback from classroom music teachers as well as private guitar instructors who use the FourChords app as a teaching tool. In fact, according to a Finnish Music Startups survey of people who play an instrument as a hobby, as many as two-thirds (68%) of the respondents reported using some kind of music software to assist them in singing or playing an instrument.
"I think the music education revolution has started; the Internet and mobile technology are changing the way people are learning music," Lehto added. "We are very excited to be the first app developer member in GAMA, and we want to support music teachers to explore the possibilities of these new technologies in the classroom."
About GAMA:
The Guitar & Accessories Marketing Association (GAMA) is a trade association comprised of guitar makers and guitar accessory suppliers. The purpose of the organization is to expand and grow the market for guitar products and to convene in the spirit of building a better industry.
