The author ,Pogue, publishes the best books ,in my opinion, for Macs.Check him out on Amazon.com. The "Missing Manual" series and "Switching to Mac" series are excellent.

I really want ST but MS apparently is too stupid to realize they have another market in Macs. I'll probably go with Parallels at some point for that plus a few other things that are PC only.

May I suggest you look at Take Control books (which are ebooks and if there is a later edition you can update free):

http://www.takecontrolbooks.com/

There is one called Switching to Mac in their catalogue.

You could also look at:

http://www.apple.com/support/mac101/

I hope it helps.

I subscribe to MacWorld magazine and get e mails now and then for "member benefits".
The one today is from sellyourmac.com.
Does anyone know if this is a trustworthy site?

I want to sell my 1st gen iPad and would like to know how to return it to it's original state, removing any and all info of mine.

Thanks Karen
