Mine is a brand new iMac. Just a month old. It never worked for me in my other machine. I think I'll try on one of my laptops to see if it works on them. The blue progress bar at the bottom if the message goes about 1/3 of the way across the message and then stops cold.

My iMac is several years old, using Lion OS and latest iPhoto. If I select a photo and hit share it gives me several options, click on e mail. a dialog box opens allowing use to compose with option of size of photo. with several photos i click the smallest one. Then a new message appears in my mail program (mac mail) with the photo(s) attached and ready to address and add text and then send. it has always worked.

Image goes out okay using my small laptop using iPhoto 9. Curious. It never worked on my iMac that I just replaced. I'll check the large laptop and the Air.
Strange isn't it.

It works for me but it takes a second to get the email to come up.

I bring up the image in iPhoto, go to Share > email . Then I use "small" and click "titles" and "description" then click "compose message." The email comes up with subject and picture but no To address. I add that and send.

I use Mail for email.

Hope this helps?

Just tried my large laptop which us running Snow Leopard. All the other machines are running Lion. Photo goes out fine using iPhoto 9 on Snow Leopard. The new desktop machine is running iPhoto 11. Don't remember what the old iMac was using but it was probably 9. Neither of them worked tho. Isn't that odd. Must be some kind of goofy conflict. I use adobe CS a lot. I wonder if there are conflicts there. I don't have any problems with iPhoto except for that one feature. It's an easy work around so I've never investigated it.

From your description (blue bar that shows being sent) you have your iPhoto preferences set to use iPhoto email not Apple Mac mail. I tried that - it did work but much prefer using the mail program not iPhoto e mail client. check iPhoto preferences in general.

Looked in accounts and I have all the info set up according to the iPhoto help directions. All set, including Flickr. When I click on email photo the photo comes up in an Apple Mail message window. I looked in all of iPhotos prefs and don't see any setting for a separate iPhoto mail program.

When I look into accounts in iPhoto preferences I have all the info on a number of e mail accounts including as you say flickr.

When I click to e mail a selected photo it first asks me about composing - size. when I click on compose it then takes me out of that desktop where I have iPhoto into another desktop where I have apple mail. A new message appears with the attached photo - I can then add addresses and text and then send in normal way for mail. In the general preference for iPhoto i can choose iPhoto, mail, entourage, outlook express, eudora and aol. I choose mail. This is not in the accounts pane. I suspect this is a difference between iPhoto 9 and 11. The ability to send photo by e mail was added in later additions of iPhoto.

It's sometimes difficult to know what information is useful. I'm not sure what you mean by "directly" - the cable does come out of a socket on the Airport Extreme. And referring to another post, I don't know why it was relevant to mention the thickness of walls when discussing a wired connection. It didn't occur to me that the diagnostics indicating no Internet and Server would be something to do with the line when ISP was showing green. Still don't understand it.

And does nobody have an opinion on the channels settings?

Sorry - it's sometimes difficult to know what information is "useful". If I'd thought about the ethernet going through the power lines, I might have realized that was a likely source of the problem. The trouble is I didn't think about it. I'm not sure what you mean about not "directly" plugged in, because the cable is plugged into the ethernet socket OK. I'm also not sure why the thickness of the walls has any bearing on the wired connection.

I'll read the article and I'll try AirGrab Radar. Thanks.

The ability to change channels means, in theory, that you might be able
to pick a channel that is a bit further from something causing
interference.

In practice, a bigger problem is the standard WiFi frequency which is
also shared with some types of cordless phone systems (not cell phones)
and even baby room cordless monitors and garage door openers.

I've found that more than one client would lose WiFi service when the
cordless office phone rang. The solution for that is to get a cordless
phone that works on the higher frequency.

While I don't have an iPad - what is the use of the Apple camera adapter
cable that is an optional item (in the Apple store) - if not to access a
digital camera or to provide a standard USB port interface to which you
could connect a card reader or other USB device? My folks have an iPad
(and they don't have one of these cables/adapters either, but don't seem
to need one....) Just thought I'd mention it...

The function and purpose of the Camera Connection Kit is to import images from a camera or an SD card *from* a camera into the iPad.

It is not intended to allow you to view the contents of the camera/SD card prior to importing the images.

Howdy.

The two programs, available to download free from Nikon (or on a Nikon
CD included with a new camera), are:

1. Nikon Transfer 2.app
2. ViewNX 2.app

When you install the group a folder is created called Nikon Software
and in this are several other programs like an updater message center,
a Nikon Movie Editor, and uninstaller apps are placed.

Nikon Transfer and ViewNX have worked well from Leopard, to snow
Leopard, to Lion. I like the Nikon Transfer app because it gives me
extreme flexibility for customizing the automatic renaming of the
photos as they come from camera to hard drive and that's a big time
saver and a big organizational plus.

Do the modems/routers provided by Comcast not print the password right
on the units information label? While perhaps a daft question, Bell
Canada does exactly that to their units. Yes, that specific password can
be modified through a web browser interface; and you can then also add
in your own custom administrator password afterwards. At least it's a
starting point for end user customers that saves a call to tech support
initially. In my experience most customers have Bell setup everything to
work (to their best interests), and leave it to you to customize it
further. If they don't read the manual, they may not see that the
initial passwords and serial numbers, etc., are printed on the [back of]
the units just installed.

Howdy.

I've installed several dozen routers and have never seen the password
and account info printed on the device itself.

It may be a good idea to do so, if the device is in a secure area, but
for an office area I'm not so sure of it being a good idea.

I have been successful at syncing my calendars, contacts and mail to
i.Cloud on my SnowLeopard macs and iOs iPhones... Great! Now when I go
to my System Preferences, the MobileMe panel is still there, and it
tells me that it is closed. I'm ok with that too. What I was wondering
is how and where, if possible, to find a similar "control panel" for
iCloud to replace the old MobileMe one. I don't mind buying the Lion
upgrade (but will not upgrade yet), and if it's buried in one of those
system folders, can I simply install that in the same place as the
current MobileMe one? ... or does it need Lion to run too? Thought I'd
ask before trying, don't want to mess up my "working almost fine as is"
computer. Thanks.
