I use OverDrive with iOS5 and it works fine. I think when I upgraded or put it on my wife's iPad I had problems with it because I seem to have two adobe id's and I used the wrong one.

Other than that I've had no problems.

Overdrive is the leading provider of ebooks to libraries. The library subscribes for 5000 titles (or whatever) and they make them available through the library's catalog, adding hot new titles as they come along. Saves us librarians a lot of work, but it's not as easy as it sounds either. (Our library hasn't started yet, and we're going with another vendor when we do.)

Droid-like iPhone keyboard?

Posted by: "Devitt" devittad@comcast.net   devittad

A friend's son-in-law just got an iPhone 4S after having a Droid. He is unhappy with having to tap the iPhone onscreen keyboard rather than swirling(?) his finger like he did on the Droid. Sorry if I'm unclear, but this is the explanation I got. I'm hoping someone out there who made the transition from Droid to iPhone can comment.

Is there an app which could make the iPhone keyboard mimic the touch like a Droid? Any other comments, recommendations would be very welcome. It's a shame that this one (large) problem makes him dislike his neat new phone.

I know what you're talking about. Apple will not allow it. There was an app for it but Apple removed it from the store.

Not sure why I send 3 replys. The android app is called Swype. On the
iPhone it requires replacing the keyboard and that is what Apple will not
allow.

I have a friend with an Android and tried the swype thing. Didn't like it. Quite a bit of the time when I get messages from my friend, I have to figure out what he's trying to say because swype misspells a lot. I know the iPhone has spelling problems too but it doesn't seem as many misspellings as with Android. The guy has been using Android for quite sometime now, so I'd think he has the swype thing down.

I hated my EVO and typing with it. Autocorrect was almost laughable
compared to how accurate the iPhone is.

Tell whoever to adjust to the accuracy of the iPhone and forget the
flawed and inaccurate typing of any Android phone.

Actual slide out keyboard/case for iPhone

The genius at Apple store showed me this accessory for iPhone as I don't like the extremely sensitive touch keypad on the iPhone 4s. Love the phone though.

Answering calls

Usually my iPhone 4 gives me the option of accepting or declining an incoming call, but sometimes the only thing I see is a slider on the bottom that says slide to answer or something to that effect. Why would it do this occasionally and is there a way to prevent it from doing it ?

If the iPhone is awake, it will say answer or decline. If it is asleep, it
will say slide to answer. If you do not wish to answer, tap the power
button once to stop the ringing and a second time to send the call directly
to voice mail.

If your phone is asleep you will see the slider to answer. If your phone is awake, IE you are using it, you will get the option to decline or answer.
