This app includes six categories of content with over 100 bright, high quality photos taken in various natural habitats. The child can spend time looking through the images while learning various words and concepts from them.

N. Novgorod, Russian Federation - BabyFirst Games today is pleased to announce the release and immediate availability of BabyFirst Encyclopedia 1.3 for iOS devices, their free early learning encyclopedia app for babies and toddlers. The encyclopedia includes six categories of content, such as "The Farm," "Transportation" and "Underwater World." These categories contain over 100 bright and high quality photos taken in various natural habitats. Each image is accompanied by an audio recording of the word it represents and a caption written in large, highly contrasted text. The child can spend time looking through the images while learning various words and concepts from them. After a while of this, the child will likely start recognizing the things presented in the images and might ask you more about them.

In order to ensure that the child has an easy time browsing the encyclopedia, we made the primary control element a toy train. The child can choose between the different sections within the encyclopedia by moving the toy train around the tracks and choosing different carts. Being parents ourselves, we developed the app to work well with children's typical movement patterns. Our testing showed that even 10-month-old toddlers are capable of browsing through the images presented by the app since all that's required is dragging a finger along the screen in any visible area.

We believe that a solid appreciation for art can be cultivated from an early age. This is why we added a bonus section to our encyclopedia that contains images depicting various famous paintings. The section features paintings by Klimt, Monet, Vincent van Gogh and other renowned artists. We specifically selected paintings that feature large objects as their focus, easy for children to grasp, and captioned them with simplified names.

The game's graphics are created by a professional children's illustrator and take the form of comfy fabric based elements. The soundtrack for the app consists of modified classical music edited to resemble music from a music box. This allowed us to make the app pleasant for the child yet not too distracting so as to not interfere with the assimilation of new information.

If early development for your child is something you're interested in, then the BabyFirst Encyclopedia will be one of the most comfortable and efficient games to help your child learn and prosper for a long time to come by helping your child form a wholesome collection of knowledge about the surrounding world.

IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Ohio based IT research and development company, Vora Labs today introduces iScheduling 1.0, their new productivity app for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices. iScheduling searches the MS Exchange calendars of all invitees to find times when everyone is available and presents the scheduler with valid options. Cincinnati, Ohio - Vora Labs, an IT research and development company, is pleased to release its first app for the iPhone and iPad into the Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) iTunes store. You don't have to wait until you get back to the office and boot up Outlook. Now you can just use your iPad or iPhone and let iScheduling do the work of finding available times and sending the invites for you, whenever and wherever you need. That's the power of iScheduling", says Richard Schramm, CTO of Vora Labs.

KIDiLEARN Russian Alphabet App - Kids Learn Letters While Playing

KIDiLEARN Russian Alphabet App - Kids Learn Letters While Playing - Published on 12/21/11

IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Ingengo is proud to announce the release of KIDiLEARN Russian Alphabet, an educational game for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch helping Russian-speaking children learn the Russian letters and sounds using tested interactive learning methodologies. The app covers a range of skills from recognizing and finding the letters on a keyboard for the younger children to recognizing the sound of the first letter in a word, and finally finding a missing letter, suitable for kids starting to read in Russian.

New York, New York - Ingengo today is proud to introduce KIDiLEARN Russian Alphabet - an educational game for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch helping Russian-speaking children learn the Russian letters and sounds using tested interactive learning methodologies. The app covers a range of skills from recognizing and finding the letters on a keyboard for the younger children to recognizing the sound of the first letter of a word, and finally finding a missing letter, suitable for kids starting to read in Russian.

The app includes three games. The first game, "Know Your Letters", teaches kids to recognize letters displayed on the screen and named by the narrator. A letter is displayed and the narrator asks to find that letter on the keyboard. Once the correct letter is found, a picture of an object that starts with that letter is shown and its name is pronounced. This game familiarizes kids with the alphabet.

The second game, "Find the First Letter", makes the association between a word's first letter and its sound. Here, a picture of an object is shown and the narrator pronounces the name of the object and asks the player to tap on the first letter of the word. This game is more challenging, as it asks the child to separate the first sound of the word, associate it with a letter, and then find that letter on the keyboard. This game teaches children to identify the letter sounds.

The third game, "Find the Missing Letter", asks players to fill in the missing letter in short common words, once again connecting the sound of the word with its spelling. This game is the most difficult of all, since children have to identify all of the sounds of the word, associate each sound with a letter, find which sound is missing and its corresponding letter. This game prepares children for reading. The latter two games have easy and difficult modes, allowing the player to find the correct letter either among only seven letters or the whole alphabet.

Throughout the game, a friendly narrator provides encouragement for both correct and incorrect answers. In fact, making mistakes may result in faster learning because of the way the player interacts with the game. The player has three attempts to answer a question, after which the right answer is given. When the correct letter is selected, visual and verbal confirmation re-enforces the learning. Similarly, if the selected letter is incorrect, it is still pronounced by the narrator, thus providing the necessary verbal feedback and an extra opportunity to memorize the letter that was just touched.

KIDiLEARN Russian Alphabet features:
*A native Russian narrator;
*Teaching not just the alphabet, but also Russian phonics;
*Kid-friendly bright backgrounds and big buttons suitable for the little fingers;
*Intuitive interface, with each game just one or two clicks away: choose the difficulty level, the game - and off you go;
*Plenty of interaction, so the game is not boring even for the youngest kids;
*Two levels of difficulty in the "Find the First Letter" and "Find the Missing Letter" games, making the app attractive to beginners and more advanced learners alike; and
*No in-app advertisements.

Device Requirements:
* iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
* Requires iOS 4.0 or later (iOS 5 tested)
* Universal app optimized for display on all iOS devices

California based My Turn Mobile today introduces Tillie's Time Shop, their new children's educational application for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. An interactive, story-based app, Tillie's Time Shop teaches children how to tell time, featuring engaging characters and lively narration. Tiburon, California - Tillie's Time Shop, an educational application that teaches children how to tell time, is now available in the iTunes Store. An interactive, story-based app, Tillie's Time Shop features engaging characters and lively narration. Players meet Tillie, a cat who builds and fixes clocks in Tick Tock Town, and her helper, Sam, an enthusiastic but inexperienced mouse who needs the player's help to fix and pack the clocks.

Tillie's Time Shop has 11 screens to explore. On each screen, there are many things to do: open doors, interact with the characters, and find hidden surprises. Three of the screens contain full activities. "Day and Night" lets players move the hands of the town clock to see the sun and moon rise and set over Tick Tock Town (or move the sun and moon, and watch the clock hands move to the corresponding time). In "Build a Clock," players help Tillie fix clocks by placing the numbers in the correct locations around the dial. And in "The Factory," players pack clocks into the appropriate boxes, matching the analog time on the clock with the digital time on the box, with encouragement and commentary from Sam.

Tillie's Time Shop introduces children to all of the crucial components of telling time. Players learn about time of day (daytime and nighttime, sunrise and sunset, morning and afternoon, noon and midnight), where the numbers are located on an analog clock, and how to match analog times to the equivalent digital times. Tillie's Time Shop also supports reading skills. As each word is spoken by the narrator, the text on the screen is highlighted so children can follow along. (These features are also included to support players with special needs.)

Pricing and Availability:
Tillie's Time Shop, optimized for iPhone and iPod touch, is available for purchase in the iTunes Store for $2.99. Tillie's Time Shop HD - a universal app for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, with artwork sized to the iPad's screen - is also available for $3.99.

Litsoft Brings Printed Crossword Experience to iPad with Across Lite

Posted by: "prMac Mailer" prservices@prmac.com

Litsoft Brings Printed Crossword Experience to iPad with Across Lite - Published on 12/21/11

IMMEDIATE RELEASE

California based Literate Software today announces Across Lite Crosswords 3.0, their popular personal crossword solver for the iPad. The app can be used to solve crosswords in Across Lite format, the most common format used by crossword publishers including The New York Times. Across Lite is uniquely designed to introduce the large population of puzzlers, who still prefer to solve their crosswords on paper, to the magic of the iPad without sacrificing the printed crossword experience.

Palo Alto, California - Literate Software today announced the availability of Across Lite personal crossword solver for the iPad. The app is available as a free download from the App Store. The app represents the third generation in the evolution of Across Lite line of products also available for Mac OSX and Microsoft Windows based computers.

Across Lite crossword format is the most common format used for digital publication of crosswords - from online newspapers to independent authors. The New York Times, for example, has used this format to publish the crosswords on the website since 1996. Litsoft makes free personal crossword solvers available on multiple platforms to support the electronic distribution of crosswords in this format.

Crossword solving enthusiasts fall roughly into two camps - puzzlers that prefer to solve their crosswords on paper with no other distractions, and gamers that prefer a flexible software interface that lets them challenge themselves in accuracy and speed of solving. Previous generations of Across Lite software have catered to the latter with customizable user interfaces and to the former with flexible printing options.

The iPad is a device designed to move from the printed world to the digital world. Along with other eReaders, it has succeeded very well in moving people to the digital format for books. A significant reason for this success lies in preserving as much of the physical book-reading experience as possible while combining it with advantages that only electronic formats can bring. Without a similar approach to crossword solving, the puzzlers who prefer printed medium find the iPad unsatisfactory for that purpose.

For example, Peter Gordon, who was the editor of the well-regarded crosswords published by The Sun, uses Across Lite on his computer to download online crosswords and to print them for solving. "Software is too limiting while solving," he says. "When I am solving on paper, my pen can enter letters while I am scanning clues or thinking about answers. Software also provides a tunnel vision into the list of clues that is quite different from the way I am used to studying the clues with a printed crossword."

For Fireball Crosswords, his crossword subscription service for serious crossword puzzlers, he supplies crosswords in both Across Lite and PDF formats, knowing very well that a large number of them still prefer the paper. He also provides Across Lite formats and print formats for his crosswords published by The Washington Post on Sundays and by The Week on Fridays.

The third generation of Across Lite, introduced first on the iPad, bridges this gap between puzzlers and gamers by providing an interface that looks like and can be solved like a printed crossword, but can also be switched instantaneously to a software-like view. Crossword solvers will even find the ability to switch back and forth very useful, creating a new paradigm for solving that wasn't possible before.

Amongst numerous other original features introduced in this generation of Across Lite, a noteworthy feature is an original invention that Litsoft calls SmartMove. This feature is designed to simulate the habits of expert crossword solvers who instinctively solve in a criss-cross fashion leveraging previously entered letters. On completing a clue, the app can suggest the next best clue to solve to leverage as many of the entered letters as possible. "This is very useful, like automatic bookmarking and page-turning features of eReaders," says Peter Gordon. "It is an example of what software can do to help even those who like the printed-paper experience. I don't consider it cheating at all."

Across Lite personal solvers have set the standard for crossword solving whose original features such as pen and pencil modes, ink saver printing features, flexible check and reveal commands, the means to handle rebus puzzles, etc., have been widely copied as essential features in other crossword products. Its current and past clients include major publishers such as The New York Times, The Washington Post, Yahoo and AOL.

Device Requirements:
* Compatible with iPad
* Requires iOS 3.2 or later
* 5.6 MB

Pricing and Availability:
Across Lite Crosswords 3.0 is Free and available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Games category.

Literate Software is the leading vendor of online crossword publishing products since 1995. It is the creator of the Across Lite platform that has become the de facto standard for online crossword publishing with more crosswords published each week in this format than any other. This platform was almost entirely responsible for growing the online world of crosswords over the last decade by providing a reliable publishing platform and a wide distribution of solver software. Several million copies of Across Lite are in use world-wide on multiple platforms. Copyright (C) 2011 Literate Software LLC. All Rights Reserved.
