This App Adds Weather Conditions to Your Lock Screen without Jailbreaking Posted: 29 Dec 2011 05:29 PM PST If you’re the kind of person that likes to keep an eye on the weather forecast without having to either load the Weather app, or look out of a window, then you are going to love this! Unfortunately Apple does not allow the Notification Center weather widget to show up in the lock screen, but there are plenty of jailbreak tweaks and apps that will do just that. What if you don’t want to jailbreak though? Now there is a solution, and it’s made its way through Apple’s App Store checks, too. iPhone 4S Pushes Apple’s US Smartphone Marketshare to 29% Posted: 29 Dec 2011 04:30 PM PST The iPhone 4S was met with much criticism when Apple debuted the handset back in October. Some publications have even listed the device as one of 2011′s biggest flops, but obviously sales have suggested otherwise. In fact, according to popular marketing research firm comScore, the 4S has been so popular that it’s managed to push Apple’s US smartphone marketshare up more than 1% percent in the short time it’s been available…(...) Patent Shows Planned Facial Recognition in Upcoming iPad Posted: 29 Dec 2011 04:00 PM PST One of the most popular negatives that people like to throw at the iPad is its single-user experience. There is basically no ability for a family to easily use an iPad. No user accounts, and thus no account switching. Perhaps Apple planned for each member of a family to own their own iPad, but as we all know, that just isn’t feasible with a $500 tablet, especially in these poor economic times. The latest patent application to find its way out of the people at PatentlyApple shows that Apple is well aware of the way people want to use their iPads, and that we want to be able to hand the device to another person and have them be able to use it as their own. No sharing apps, no logging in and out of things constantly. This being Apple, they want to do it a little differently.(...) Developers Working on iPad App for British Prime Minister Posted: 29 Dec 2011 03:00 PM PST We knew the iPad was making its way into governments around the world, but we had no idea to what extent. The Telegraph is reporting that the British Prime Minister is having a customized iPad app built for government use. No, Apple’s tablet isn’t going to help David Cameron run his country. But it is going to enable him to stay on top of news and other important information. Think Flipboard, but with a lot more classified information…(...) Cat Playing Fruit Ninja is Super Awesome Posted: 29 Dec 2011 02:30 PM PST We’ve conducted extensive tests here at iDB, and we have come to the cat-egorical (see what we did there?) conclusion that there is nothing more awesome on this planet than cats. Ceiling cat, keyboard cat, the list goes on. Now we can add Fruit Ninja cat to the growing list of fantastic felines, after a video surfaced of one such feline showing that fruit just who the boss really is. Just watch this video, we dare, nay double-dare you to not raise a smile. Perhaps even giggle a tad… (...) "Cat Playing Fruit Ninja is Super Awesome" is an article by iDownloadBlog.com. Rumors of a January iPad 3 Release Put to Bed Posted: 29 Dec 2011 01:45 PM PST At iDB, we don’t just pass along the Apple rumors. We also try to follow them on their road to either truth or debunking. And in the case of the recent DigiTimes’ iPad 3 report, that journey took less than 24 hours. Yesterday we told you about DigiTimes’ latest claim that Apple would unveil two new iPad models at the MacWorld conference in January. But today, Jim Dalrymple of The Loop seems to have effectively put that rumor to bed… (...) "Rumors of a January iPad 3 Release Put to Bed" is an article by iDownloadBlog.com.
