Java crashing/not working on some sites

Suddenly I am having trouble with Pogo games that use JAVA. The games won't load. (Games that use Flash load properly.) Their tech support responded quickly but the problem remains.
I am running 10.6.8 and this problem occurs in Safari, Firefox and Chrome.
I have Java SE 6 on my computer. The Electronic Arts tech said they do not recommend uninstalling Java on Macs ( they recommend it for Windows), but he also mentioned Java 29.
Is there something I can do myself? Should I reload Java 6? There seem to be several sites out there that offer free downloads but I'm a tad confused as to which one is "legitimate".
Or should I just wait until after the holidays and contact my local tech support person to look at my laptop?
Thanks.
Elaine
Happy Holidays!

move from Outlook 2010 to Mac

I've had my first Mac-a MacBook Pro-for a year now, after about 25 years of
PCs, and as many years of MS Outlook as it has been around. I wouldn't call
myself a power-user of Outlook, but I have done quite a bit with it,
personally and professionally, and I am comfortable with it.
Since I switched to the Mac-which I like a lot-I have been running Outlook
2010 in Windows 7 under Parallels Desktop. It works OK, but when I have a
computer problem it is invariably on the Windows side and I would like to
wean myself away from most of my Windows programs.
For someone like me, what is my best alternative to Outlook? I also own
Outlook 2011 for Mac, or would the native Mac programs (Mail, iCal etc.) be
better? I want to be able to do most of what I can do with Outlook,
including good syncing via iTunes or whatever with my iPhone and iPad.
Thanks, and Merry Christmas!
Best,
Jim
