Check what I just found out:
"...Unfortunately, no. Photos taken with the iPhone's camera use the industry-standard EXIF orientation flag to store rotation information. That means that the image data is always saved upright, and it's the client application's job to realize it should be rotated 90º, 180º or 270º because the user was holding the camera upside down or sideways."

When you see a pic correctly even if you take in different positions, I guess, it has to do with the picture software used to handle the picture
The picture itself most likely has a orientation flag built-in and some softwares or file managers ignore it or are not compatible.
So the iphone regardless of version or firmware does not correct the picture position automatically (It should have an option to do so)
So a word of advice, if that helps:
Always take your pictures and movies with the home button to the right. It will make sure the photo will come up correctly all the times.

changing ring tones

I am trying to sync tones (ring tone I got off the internet, put in my itunes library and want to sync to my iphone).
When I clicked the box to sync tones, I received this message:
the iphone compaq owners iphone is synced with another itunes library. Do you want to erase this iphone and sync with this itunes library? An iphone can be synced with only one itunes library at a time. Erasing and syncing replaces the contents of this iphone with the contents of this itunes library.
Do I click on erase and sync, and if not, what is an easier way to transfer tones to my iphone? I have a 3Gs.
Thanks,
Susan

Transferring Music from One iTunes Account to Another

My wife just got her first iPhone. I set up a separate account on my computer for her, including a new iTunes account. Is there any way to transfer some of the songs in my iTunes account to hers without having to reload all of the CD's from which the songs came? I have a MacBook Air running OS 10.6.8.
TIA,
Vic

On iTunes on your account enable Home Sharing as well as Sharing. Leave the iTunes and your account running. Use fast user switching to switch to her account. Launch iTunes on her account, enable Home Sharing as Well as sharing.
You should now see your iTunes account on her iTunes left column right below Store. You can now just select songs you want her to have and drag over. This will also work for apps, books, movies, etc.
The only drawback is that this duplicates all the media using more hard drive space. If you want to just share all your media but not your playlists, you can move the iTunes media to the shared folder. Then you would need to go to iTunes Preferences:Advanced and point to the location of the media folder. I haven't done this as I share my entire iTunes library with all users by putting it in the Shared Folder.
Regards,
Jay

Hi Group, haven't been on here in a while. But I was wondering if anybody heard about Microsoft word and is it any closer to coming to the ipad2? I heard something about it some time ago but I haven't lately. Please let me know if you heard anything. Thanks in advance.

Got a message that Siri is unavailable. I thought "she" was local. I was trying to make a call from my favorites. Does she maybe take bathroom breaks?

Siri is not local. It communicates with Apples Siri computer via data.

Yep. I have one in my Ford truck. Works great. Very solid mount. I like the location on the dash. Very easy to see the GPS map while driving.

thanks. the pro-clip mount looks really easy to install. do you know if it can be removed once installed? it seems to clip into the plastic
grooves. can it be pulled out without damaging the dash or the clip?
