my boy was in north carolina this past year in the military with his iphone (verizon)..no problems..now he just got stationed in Kaneohoe Bay Hawaii ,very close to Honolulu ..he has 4 bars but no 3g and sometimes no edge..I looked at the coverage map and it shows great coverage for both data and phone.
Im wondering if there may be some settings he has to change to get the 3g working .

Thank you

Allan

I am not an expert but let me say a few things.

I retired from the army. 38 years. So please thank your son for his service to our country.

2nd. I would do what I call a 'hard reboot' and see if it finds signal

I have to do that in parts of NYS

Thx

Bill

Sounds to me like the base may be blocking the signal, just like
they do in some hospitals.

Don't know but would also suggest he do the *228 to update the phone's
roaming info for Verizon. There will be two options offered. Don't
remember the wording but it will be obvious which her want. Think the
other is to setup a new phone. Not that one!
