On my iMac, I have trash set to move deleted messages to trash and to delete after 1 week old. My email comes from my me.com addy and my gmail.

I was able to download the manual onto my iPad just by opening it in iBook. That's very cool.

What happens if the email address you signed up with doesn't exist anymore?
An example would be if hotmail.com went out of business.

Problems with google authenticator
Posted by: "bladessf@aol.com" bladessf@aol.com bladessf2000
Thu Oct 20, 2011 1:43 pm (PDT)
Dear Group - Are any of you using google authenticator to use two step
verification for a google account? - have you had problems since updating to
ios 5. I have been unable to get the authenticator codes that are generated
on the phone to be accepted by google to get into my account. I have had
to use my backup codes to access my account. I tried the help steps -
turned off two step verification, turned it back on, deleted my account in the
authenticator app and made sure that the time on the phone matches my
computer.
Any help would be appreciated.

I live in suburbia and do not have a lot of wifi near me. I did take my
ipad to a Panera bread that had free wifi and it recognized it and
connected. I think when you are away from your own network, the ipad will then ask
you if you want to join a strange one.
I use Text plus silver. It can provide you with a different number for
texting only but you can keep your old number ( I forget how I used my
original number - it was a while ago when they didn't provide a specific number).
I believe I initiated a text and then the recipient had to do something.
Now they just reply to the text number assigned to me. It works well,
costs nothing per text and worked when I was in the carribean on free wifi.

see mine. I'm sure there r people who live around me have wifi even if it's

What app do u use. I'm worried about the one I downloaded, will it change my

Remember that a *wireless* sync does NOT automatically BACKUP your iDevice.
If you want to backup, you have to right/control click on the device in the left column of iTunes, and choose Backup.
A *wired* sync DOES automatically backup.

Disconnecting a USB device with data storage (flash drive, hard drive, iDevice) without first ejecting it is never a good idea, if data integrity is important to you.

This seemed to happen to me most when I was using an Otterbox on the iPhone 4. When I switched to a regular (i.e., not as strong and bulky as OB) case, the problem seemed to disappear. When the sensor failed, I tended to mute the other party.

The "iMessage" function of iOS 5 allows messaging between iPads and iPhones that are running iOS5, *IF* so specified in their Settings.
Any and all other messaging apps *should* work in all other cases. (Non-iOS 5 iDevices, and non-iDevice text-capable machines)

I'm not sure about FM transmitters, but my husband has a 3GS and I have a 4
and both of them work well through our 2011 Insight. No hissing or any
annoying sounds. They play through the XM radio. My husband's 3GS can hook
up with a USB cable and the radio displays what's playing. My 4 also plays
through XM radio but has to use an auxiliary cable and the radio doesn't
display the tune or artist -- car technology can't keep up with Apple. But
both radios have wonderful sound through the radio.

Hi
Visual voice is a service from a carrier that very few of them offer besides being a paid service most of the time.
I wanted a answering machine just like the one I have at home and had in other cell phones as well where I can review the messages right at the phone...no need to contact the carrier.
A call recorder is useful when I don´t have means of writing down a message or some other info that is passed to me while I´m on the cell phone
I´ve had those on my olders cell phones for many years...
I don´t know why they don´t have done that yet for the iphone. It is a big market right there.

Interesting Bluetooth connection to car

While out today, my husband was in one car following me in my car a LR4. We are both setup to use bluetooth with the LR4. As he was just behind me at the stop light, his iphone was connecting with the bluetooth in my car (LR4) and I could see him calling me, but couldn't answer with the bluetooth in the LR4 (which was occupied by his iphone). I tried to answer my iphone and got an echoing of my voice and he was still not connected to me. I guess I was connected via his iphone to my car talking to my cell phone in the car on the seat. LOL
Amazing the bluetooth worked from his car behind me. His car does not have the bluetooth capability.
So I guess the best that can be said is to disconnect your iphone from bluetooth if you plan to use to communicate on the road - driving two cars.

I tried to login to yahoo groups and found I couldn't. I thought it was because I didn't remember my password. So changed it. I was then asked for a profile. Ok, I did that. So, if you see the name lwr0032, it's me :-)
