Well hidden?
There's an App for that: "My AT&T"

The ringtone has to be in a format that the iPhone recognizes. Then you need to load it into iTunes. Then you sync your ringtones to your iPhone.

*Highlight the song you want as a ringer or text tone.
*Convert this song to AAC. (If this choice is grayed out, go to preference and select import CDs with AAC encoder. You can always change it back once done with the ringtone)
*Get info (Command+I) and go to 'Options' Select start and stop time (30 seconds max.)
*Drag this new AAC file out of iTunes to your desktop and remove the modified song from iTunes. If the file is still there in iTunes, then you can't re-import the song again
*On the desktop where you put the song from iTunes, change the extension to "m4r" (Windows users, you have to deselect the 'hide extension' in your settings.)
*Drag the modified file back into iTunes by dragging it back into the library.
*Connect your iDevice and select ringtones to sync to it. It should now be there in your device settings to use as liked.
I made six tones last night, it's easy. :-)

That's not under the heading of "Wifi syncing", that is in "Settings - Store" under iOS 5.

I'm not doing iCloud yet, but I *do* know that one of the very first things I will be doing with it is immediately going into its preferences and turning OFF everything I either don't want or am not sure about.
I don't know, if you choose to leave an option turned ON, whether some documents and/or data are synced with the cloud without your actively selecting programs to sync with the cloud.
It *definitely* needs a better notification (e.g., "The iCloud documents from Numbers and Pages will be deleted from your computer if you turn this off. You may want to back them up on your computer before doing this"). (Or "Click _here_ to see a list of the documents and data which will be deleted. These will be unavailable to you if you do not back them up on your computer first.")

This view of the Cloud seems to be "to sync things among your devices". If you turn "Music" ON in "Settings - Store", you are telling Apple to keep the music on your computer and iDevice in sync. If an item is deleted in one place, it will be replaced.
If you don't want this to happen - if you want to control and personally manage what goes where - don't tell the system to do it automatically: UNcheck "Music" in "Settings - Store".

4 Quick Tips For iPhone4S

Locate your lost iPhone
If you've lost your iPhone, Find My iPhone can help you locate it on a
map and protect its data. Display a message on its screen, remotely set
a passcode lock, or initiate a remote wipe to delete your data.
Lock the screen orientation
Double-click the Home button to bring up the multitasking interface,
then swipe from left to right. Now tap the portrait orientation lock
once to turn it on and again to turn it off.
Scrub through audio and video
When you're watching a video or listening to music or a podcast, the
scrubber bar lets you skip to any point along the timeline. You can
adjust the scrub rate from high-speed to fine scrubbing by sliding your
finger down as you drag the playhead along the scrubber bar.
Tap to focus the camera
While shooting video or photos, tap the screen where you want to focus.
iPhone will also adjust the exposure and white balance automatically.

If you go into Settings - General - iTunes Wi-Fi Sync, is the "Sync Now" button greyed out or active?

And with the iPhone connected to the computer, in iTunes, "Sync with the iPhone over Wi-Fi" is checked, right?
If that is the case, you have now passed beyond my expertise, sorry.

via Gadgetell by Robert Nelson on 10/21/11
AT&T offered up some iPhone 4S details yesterday and let everyone know
that they had activated 1 million between the time the handset launched
and Tuesday. In other words, the iPhone 4S became the fastest to see 1
million activations for the carrier. But that being said, AT&T also
still seems really happy to be carrying an older model iPhone—the 3GS.
And sure, the iPhone 3GS is now a full generation old, but according to
AT&T it is still bringing "tremendous, tremendous demand." Anyway, the
3GS related bit has come by way of AT&T Mobility President and CEO

1. If even a 8 GB iPhone is down to 500 MB free, it's going to slow down.
2. An App called "Memory Info" seems to be able to clear some stuff from RAM. You could see if that helps.
Otherwise, remove some Apps, or music, or podcasts, or video, or something.

use system activity monitor by recession apps. It displays memory and app
info and clears memory to get the most unused memory.

iDrive lite

Fri Oct 21, 2011 5:34 pm (PDT)
Hello all,
I´ve just found out about an app that can easily backup and restore your contacts for you. Called iDrive lite which is free by the way.
It saves your contacts on the web (needs to create an account) and you can retrieve them at anytime.
Tested and worked pretty good and it is one click back/restore.
Check it out if you want to have a second place to save your contacts.
I usually like to keep my data with me because you never know when you need them and you could not have access to the Internet
or the service you trust stop working, but this one is free so I gave it a shot
This is one useful service that Apple should give to their customers since the beginning.
So far so good!
Rod

iOS 5 is the iPhone/iPad end of the equation.
iTunes 10.5 is the computer end. Can XP run 10.5?

iCloud is not compatible with XP, vista or 7. iTunes and everything
else is fine just can't sync contacts, calendars etc. can use web
versions at iCloud.com
