I went to the Apple Store today, where a very nice Genius tried everything he could think of to get my sync problem fixed. No luck. The solution turned out to be as I'd more or less feared a restore. Ugh. No way to use a backup version, as that would have the same problem, so I'm still tweaking things. But my sync works fine now, so that's the important thing! :)

Voicemail Password

I am getting a message box telling me that my voicemail password is incorrect and I have to re-enter it. The problem is that I don't have a password on my voicemail and I wasn't trying to use my voicemail either. This happens quite a bit lately. Why does this happen all of a sudden and how do I get rid of it?

It just gets hot, not over heating.
At least for my iphone 4. Not iphone 4s.

I use GPS with Google, Telnav and MapQuest without any overheating.
You might want to take it to an Apple store to get it replaced.

All iPhones get hot when the GPS receiver is on. Unless youâre doing something to stop the air circulation around it, there shouldnât be a problem. Remember, Apple is warranting these for a year (you did get the AppleCare Plus didnât you?) or two with AppleCare. If they were burning out left and right, Apple would be out of business by now.

My understanding is that those applications use your data connection, either all of the time or most of the time.
A true GPS Nav which uses only the GPS system will get hot.

I just put money on the Starbucks app at Starbucks -- they enter the amount in the cash register and I scan the app as if I were buying coffee and the new $$ amount shows up on my phone. Alternatively, I have put money on via my Starbucks gold card and just bought coffee using the app.
