Actually when I upgraded and did my sync it did not update to IOS5. It told
me next update would be at a later date. So for the heck of it I hit the
update button (even though it told me I was up to date) and sure enough the
update to IOS5 popped up. So that was how I had to get the update. So
some people might have to do the same thing.
