The First Google Music App is Now Available in the App Store

Remember Google Music? Back in May, Google unveiled a beta version of its cloud-based music service that allows users to upload up to 20,000 songs to its servers. Users can then access that music from almost any device with a web connection.

A major downside to the service though is that it hasn’t had a native iOS app. It’s had a web app of sorts, but never an actual application. Until now. Macgasm is reporting that gMusic, a native Google Music app, has just surfaced in the App Store…(...)

Siri is obviously the breakout feature in Apple’s latest handset. Love it or hate it, you can’t deny that it’s a crowd pleaser (when the servers up). Even the critics that say that the system is too limited right now, agree that Siri has some great potential.

The potential lies with third party developers. Currently Siri can’t launch apps or perform tasks inside third party applications, but it’s coming. And the folks behind the popular task manager Remember The Milk are leading the way…(...)

MacRumors has made an interesting find in iOS 5. Apple has enabled a toggle for iTunes Match in the Music section of the Settings app.

Also, an iTunes Match page has been added to the iTunes Store on the desktop. Apple has said that it plans to launch iTunes Match in the US by the end of the month…(...)

Facebook Messenger Now Available Everywhere

Facebook Messenger has quickly become one of my favorite apps for the iPhone. Before Apple released iOS 5 and iMessage to the public, Facebook Messenger was my client of choice to communicate with my friends scattered around the world.

The problem was that most of my friends overseas couldn’t use the application. It seems that this is not an issue anymore, as Facebook has brought support for 12 additional languages, and is releasing the app in many more countries…(...)

Apple Releases Apple TV 4.4.1 Update… Again

Yesterday we reported that Apple had released iOS 4.4.1 for the Apple TV. Unfortunately, minutes after pushing the update, many users reported that the new software was actually “bricking” their device, which let Apple to pull the plug and stop the release of 4.4.1.

It seems that Apple has fixed the issue and has started pushing iOS 4.4.1 for Apple TV again late last night…(...)

Meet the Fourth US Carrier for the iPhone 4S

It’s just been announced that the iPhone 4S will be available on a fourth US carrier, and no, it’s not T-Mobile. Oddly enough, C Spire Wireless, formerly known as Cellular South, will be launching Apple’s next smartphone soon.

C Spire will join AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint as an iPhone partner in the US. T-Mobile remains left out in the cold…(...)

Apple held a conference call yesterday, shortly after announcing its Q4 financial results.

The results made interesting reading, with Apple falling just short of the expected revenue figure of $29.41 billion, making a not-inconsiderable $28.3 billion instead.

The iPhone sold just 17.1 million units against the expected 22 million. But why such a difference between the two numbers, when the iPhone usually sells so strongly? According to Apple Chief Financial Officer Peter Oppenheimer, the rumor mill is to blame…(...)
