Use MacTubes. Free, easy to use, and allows you to see which formats are
available. Only does YouTube, though.

Hi,
I have the new Retina Display Macbook with an SD drive. I want to make sure my space on that drive is not too high- I remove programs I am not using onto a external drive frequently- I use dropbox and other off site as well as external drives so I back up everything several times. I have a clone and I also use Time Machine.
So, how do I monitor the hard drive (SD) drive- do the programs I see listed in previous posts work with that drive?
Thanks!!

They work with any drive. When you start them up, the initial window shows
all accessible drives and you then simply choose which one to "scan".
Of course, if you just want to monitor overall drive usage, Finder > Get
Info (cmd i) is all you need.

HI,
That helps- I did not know cmd i
I want to ensure I keep enough room on the SD drive and that was good. I do not think I will need another tool- at least not now. I am really watching how much goes on and I remove files that I do not use.
Thanks!!

Do you mean that you didn't know about Get Info, or the cmd i shortcut?
There are many shortcuts it's worth knowing about. They can save a *lot* of
time. You can download a file for quick reference from
<http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/macsupportcentral/files/Keyboard/ >
or see them online at

I am ashamed to admit, I did not know- I should but I am so involved in distance learning and course management systems that I have just used the keyboard, hunted or used Dragon Dictate.
I know a lot of things but not enough about the MAC that would help me do things quicker or easier.
I have printed, saved and put in evernote the entire list so I know where to look for things first. It will be a great reference for me!!!
Thanks!!

Just one thought. In your original message, you said you use Dropbox. You probably know this, but the way Dropbox works is to mirror everything you put in it on their server and on every device on which you install Dropbox. It's possible (I didn't check just now and don't know the answer to this) that you might be able to put your local Dropbox folder on one of your external drives to save a bit of space on your startup SSD, but since your computer is the retina display MacBook Pro you'll probably want to have access to the Dropbox folder all the time.
This would make more sense for someone with a Mac Pro, Mini, or iMac who has an external drive attached permanently and is trying to free up internal drive space (if the Dropbox folder can be on an external drive).

I have a brand new router upstairs in my home next to my desktop. The signal is ok, but not stellar downstairs in our den. Generally this is ok; however, when I use my Hulu to connect to Netflix to stream program it takes a long time for any program to download and start; and often it loses the connection mid program and must re-load. I am wondering if a repeater in the den downstairs would amplify the weak signal and help with the streaming issue.
If you think it neccessary, any suggestions for a repeater? I don't do any gaming, just Google, e-mail and Netflix.
Not exactly a Mac issue, but you folks are so knowledgeable and helpful ...
Thanks for any suggestions

First of all, would it be possible to move the router downstairs? With your
usage, the computer will probably be fine with the weaker signal, and the
streamer will get a stronger signal without paying for more hardware.
