You can read about SSD's here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ssd

SSD's themselves need no periodic maintenance. There is built-in software in recent versions of OS X called TRIM that keeps them running at peak performance:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TRIM

While your SSD does not need any routine maintenance, your Macintosh can benefit from doing some. See:

Macintosh OS X Routine Maintenance
http://www.macattorney.com/ts.html

While this page says that it is only for up to OS X 10.6, the only significant change for OS X 10.7 and 10.8 is that you should never, ever, defragment an SSD or a hybrid hard drive.

I've recently changed to a new iMac with 10.8.4 and find a few things missing, for example: Spotlight - it lists the items I'm searching for and gives a preview but doesn't tell me where those items actually are, e.g. in folder xxx, on desktop, or wherever. The "Help" panels don't help.

Similarly in iPhoto to see details that were shown in one view now requires jumping back and forwards - but at least I can access the information, unlike Spotlight.

Hi Ralph,

To know the location of the item you see in spotlight , select the file and just press alt/option + R.

As for iPhoto part I have no suggestion.

Sent from my iPhone , please excuse my grammatical and spelling mistakes.

To see the location of things found in Spotlight, I press Option + Command. (If I press Option + r, Parallels starts up.)

Bob,

My mother and my husband have had this happen recently to their gmail
account. We have since enabled two step authentication on all of our
accounts which should help prevent this from happening in the future. You
can read about two step authentication here http://www.google.com/2step

If a Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.

Have you tried a Restore to restore the WiFi? http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1559

Regarding the Personal Hotspot:
Have you used it before?
It is under Settings/ General/ Cellular/ Set Up Personal Hotspot
Do you have it on you data plan with your cellular provider?

If you check the article I included the URL for, there are a few other things you can try to fix the WiFi.

And it is not like I had that URL just lying around. I found it with a quick web search. You might try that for the hotspot.

Maybe one complaint won't help, but thousands of complaints might.

Unfortunately, they have also they laid off 20 employees, so the company seems to be in some financial difficulty. Maybe they sole owner, Apple, should infuse some cash to maintain the company for both the business and consumer data base products.

For those in the UK who are not happy with Filemaker discontinuing Bento please vent your frustrations to their PR company filemaker@chameleonpr.com

Filemaker in the USA and other countries will have their own Media Relations company to whom you should address complaints.

Even with the discount for registered Bento users, which does not seem to be available in the UK, we are expected to pay at least three times what we have already paid to get a product that does not sync between Mac, iPad and iPhone.

I have already emailed the above PR firm expressing my anger, although I doubt it will do any good.
