Yep. Just tap the upper right icon when in the camera, and it will switch
cameras. You'll know right away. :)

Re: Well iPhone 4S

We have been waiting for this for the past two months. My wife's 3G (purchased in December after the 3Gs came out in June) has slowed to a crawl, frequently locking up or crashing. So she's getting my i4 next week and I'm using her upgrade to take the 4S.

From the things I've seen about it, I think the 4S is a fairly signifant upgrade. No, it doesn't have a 5 in the name, which may be what bothers a lot of people. But to get both of our lines on the 4 platform is definitely worth the upgrade to us.

Our household has 3 iPhones - 3G, 3GS, and 4.
So for the price of one 4S, all three of us get upgrades (the person with the 4 gets the 4S, the person with the 3GS gets the 4, and the person with the 3G gets the 3GS).

How do I get Facebook notifications?

I recently got an iPhone for the first time - a 3GS. I downloaded the Facebook app and I set it up to receive text message notifications - at least I think I did. I've had one such message - a friend request, but nothing else. Is that all I can expect? I thought I'd get texts telling me that I had new messages or even status updates.

Trust me.... You do not want to receive a text everytime someone updates their status

With Steve Jobs' passing, we have lost one of the greatest
technological innovators of our time.

Jobs wasn't just a savvy businessman, he was a visionary who made it
his mission to humanize personal computing, rewriting the rules of user
experience design, hardware design and software design. His actions
reverberated across industry lines: He shook up the music business,
dragged the wireless carriers into the boxing ring, changed the way
software and hardware are sold and forever altered the language of
computer interfaces. Along the way, he built Apple up into one of the
most valuable corporations in the world.

Quite a run. He will be missed.

Free iPhone 4 or pay for iPhone 4S ?????

Posted by: "rkkeller8" thekellergroup@gmail.com   rkkeller8

I have not been around a lot but I was here way back
like a lot of you getting the first iPhone. Then I got
the next version and the next then got an iPad but went
Android back a little and skipped the iPhone 4, waiting
for the iPhone 5.

Now that the iPhone has come to Sprint where I am, I have
an offer for a free iPhone 4 even shipping(not 4S).

I am not sure what to do. I was going to just wait longer
for an iPhone 5 whenever that is, but a free iPhone 4 makes
me start to consider it more.

I know a lot of us are very opinionated :> so any thoughts on
if I should just stick with my Android and wait for the iPhone 5,
take the free iPhone 4 or if getting an iPhone might as well
pay for the new 4S???????

How much storage does the "free" 4 have? Is it enough for your needs?

Part of what I am debating is it only seems the camera and processor
have been updated from the 4 to 4S and a lot of the new features are
really in the new OS. Siri sounds neat but I have never even used
plain voice dialing ever so I doubt I would use this.

Is a little better camera and faster processor worth minimum of $200
over the iPhone 4?????

I am also worried that in 8-9 months the iPhone 5 will come out like
has been the pattern.

It's the lowest model, I think 8 gigs but that is more than
enough for me. In the past, I never carried much of anything
on it except apps and don't use it for a lot of music/video
and things like that.

I know some use it for mass storage and keep anything and every
thing on it but I am home everynight and can sync or swap out
if I need anything.

I use the camera a lot. The better camera is worth it for me.

I wish I knew how much of iOS 5 will work on the iPhone 4.

That's what I thought too. It's why I am having a hard time
deciding between a free iPhone 4 and paying for a 4S. A lot of
the good new things are on the new iOS.

I think everything but Siri will work on the iPhone 4. You obviously won't have the newer camera, HSPA+ faster download speeds, faster CPU, fast graphics unit, 64GB storage memory, 1GB RAM (2x RAM in iPhone 4). I'm sure I missed a few other changes.

In which case, if it costs you nothing, what reason could you have not to go

Honestly I wouldn't agree to a 2 year contract with 18 month old hardware.
Not sure what account you have with Sprint to get a 'free' 4 but if that
logic hold true they should be willing to give you a 4S for $100 (4 is $99
for everyone else, etc).

A Friend is eligible for upgrade on AT&T - she got the 4 last year and it
was stolen and went back to 3G, then used one of my upgrades (I have 5 AT&T
lines, 2 of them are just feature phones) and her son put that one in the
toilet. She is saying she is going to buy another 4 for $99 and I am trying
to talk her out of it, to get the 4S.

I haven't even looked yet but I don't think I am going to be able to sell my
4 as I did all of my previous ones, certainly not for the usually $400+ - I
may be able to get $200-$300 max for it (perfect condition, battery rarely
used as I always use Mophie Juice Pack, etc) but I may end up just giving
her my 4 so she doesn't spend $99 and get into another contract to try and
'save' $100...

I bought my IPhone 4 last year, so I
have a year left on my contract.

If I trade in my I4 are buy the 4S
out right will I have to keep paying
on the I4 as well as the 4S until the
first contract runs out???

Thanks,

Not sure what you mean buy outright, pay full price?

If you are eligible for an upgrade ($199/$299 - can check upgrade by dialing
*639# on iPhone or at
https://buyiphone.apple.com/WebObjects/IPACustomer.woa/wa/IPAToolAction/springboard)
and upgrading will extend your contract a year by signing a new two year
agreement.
