Help me to understand, I have to convert a DVD movie TWICE? Both slow processes?
From DVD to m4v the mp4? I thought DVDRipperPr was supposed to do this in one step?

Not sure about the app you bought, but Handbrake, (handbrake.fr) will do the job for free.

There is this tiny button that I missed in the Handbrake menu when I chose rip to MP4. For some reason I have to select "iPod 5G Support" despite choosing MP4 previously.
I guess I wasted my money on Mac DVD Ripper Pro. I never could figure out how to get a playable mp4 file for my iPhone by using MDRP3.
Another school of hard knock lesson. I've earned a graduate degree in SHKL overtime. jr

Re: Questions for Giving my MBP to a friend for Christmas?

Dear Roxanne,
Good day...
1.What is the best way to transfer from one MBP to another? There are some
applications I don't want to transfer.
Using Data migration assistant from utilities folder. To do so start
your old Mac by holding alphabet " T " and connect the new and the old one
with Firewire cable.
if you have purchased those App from App store then don't transfer the
Apps , you can download them again in your New Mac using your ID.
2. I have VMfusion with windows 7 on my current MBP. Can I transfer that
over to the new one, if I decide I still need it?
I suggest you to install Vmware in the new laptop fresh and you can copy -
paste the VMware image in the document folder. and before you start the
VMware , update it to the latest available update.
3. All of the apps I have purchased, (pages, keynote, aperture, etc.) Can I
leave them on for her and then reinstall from the Apple store on my new one?
technically it is possible to leave the apps , but legally not so cos' your
friend might use his / her App store account and it will conflict.
Regards
IK

He was referring to RAM, not disk space ....
