Designed for children ages 2 to 9, Navajo Toddler offers children an engaging way to learn to speak the Navajo language through the use of interactive visual flashcards, audio, and gameplay lessons. The use of the app will introduce children to basic Navajo vocabulary in categories such as numbers, food, colors, body parts, common sayings, and animals.

Phoenix, Arizona - TinkR' Labs releases new update to the Navajo Toddler app for the iPhone and iPad that includes initial memory game. The Navajo Toddler App is designed for children ages 2 to 9 to learn to speak the Navajo language through the use of interactive visual flashcards, audio, and gameplay lessons.

The use of the app will introduce children to basic Navajo vocabulary in categories such as numbers, food, colors, body parts, common sayings, and animals. Children can flip through the fun illustrated flash cards for a visual association of the word and listen to the audio pronunciation of each word to get familiar with how the word is spoken. Once a child becomes familiar with the words they can play a visual and audio game that will give them three fun illustrations to choose from and one word in Navajo to increase there memory of words and pronunciation. The game is random and kids can keep playing an increase their knowledge of the language.

* Swipe from image to image and tap on the image to listen to the native Navajo speaker
* Have you child repeat the word in Navajo to practice pronunciation
* Watch as your child enjoys learning the Navajo language

2. Play:
* Select play
* Listen to the native Navajo speaker say the word
* Click on one of the three images that match the word
* After selecting the correct word and getting feedback, a new word and set of images will appear
* Your child can keep playing and become more and more familiar with each word and pronunciation

Using the technology of the iPad/iPhone, Word Wizard enhances and amplifies the experience of seeing, touching, and hearing letters that young children have had in Montessori classrooms for more than 100 years. The talking Movable Alphabet lets kids drag one letter at a time on to a grid (that automatically aligns the letters) or a blank page. As each letter is added to a word-in-progress, Word Wizard speaks the name of the letter aloud (or optionally, its phonetic sound) and then pronounces the proto-word, demonstrating how each additional letter alters the pronunciation of the whole. The child may never create a word in the Spanish language, but he or she is completely free to get to know the building blocks of words on their own terms. When the last letter of a correctly spelled word is put in place, the entire word is surrounded by white light, all the letters grow to remove the spaces between them, and the word is clearly pronounced.

Each spelling quiz consists of 10 words. Spanish Word Wizard prompts "Escribe 'madre'" and the child drags each letter as they did before to spell the word. If necessary, they can touch the Hint button to receive hints one letter at a time. When all 10 words have been spelled, the app displays the number of correct answers and the number of hints used.

Ft. Lauderdale, Florida - Independent development group ImGame announces the immediate availability of their new free social gaming platform with its first application on the iTunes App Store. The initial version of the ImGame app sees rich functionality such as sharing gamers' check-in activity across Facebook and Twitter, "PWN'ing" titles (similar to how Foursquare rewards its users who check-in to a location the most with "mayorships"), custom-designed badges for game titles and special events, commenting, and networking features. Push notifications are also available to keep gamers updated whenever their friends check-in to a title, makes a comment on their activity, requests a connection or wins a token.

Users can discover new titles by viewing the activity history of the network and their friends to track trending popularity or re-discovering forgotten titles they've played long ago. A user can easily see which majority of their friends are playing a specific title on a specific platform without sending text messages or firing up multiple consoles and comparing activity.

"We're gamers first and foremost, so bringing gamers together and enabling title discovery across any gaming platform users are on helps," said James Hall, the application developer and co-founder. "Whether it's aligning gamers with their friends on which platform and title every one's playing to sharing which titles they like the most, we're hoping gamers spend less time trying to get a multiplayer match going and jump right into the action."

The application isn't the first to market, but the developers and its early beta users agree that it's the most polished out of the growing niche base. Being called the "definitive check-in app for gamers" by some of its users, the team spent the past few months enhancing the user interface, custom badges, down to the notification sounds users hear when they receive push updates.

"This is just the beginning," said Joshua Corliss, the app's designer and co-founder. "We're looking to increase the social aspect of the app by enabling new ways of sharing data between users and meeting new gamers. We're also looking into opportunities for seamless branding partnerships in a way that benefits brands as much as it does our user without being perceived as annoying. Independent game developers will have as much involvement as bigger publishers."

Full Product details:

Neu makes it easier to create new documents in the Finder, without you having to open an application first. It does this by adding "Create Document..." and "Create And Open Document..." menus to various places, including the main menubar, the Dock, and the Services menu that the Finder shows when you right-click on something. You can also trigger Neu from any application using a special key combination.

Neu lets you choose what to make from a list of templates, which are simply existing documents. Once you've chosen a template, Neu creates a copy of it, brings the Finder to the front, and selects the new document.

Neu comes with some pre-defined templates, but you can add your own, so you can customise the types of new document available to suit your needs. It can make a blank text document, an empty letter, a shopping list, or anything else that you want. You can have one template, or a hundred - it's up to you.

Neu also features a text substitution engine, which means that you can set up a template and have it fill in certain details (such as a the current date) at the time that a document is created from it.

Apology From Monkeybin For A Marketing Ploy That Back-Fired - Published on 12/16/11

Monkeybin is a small, independent game developer for iOS and Android platforms, based in Norway; being a small team, dedicated to the actual developing side of the business, they often have to outsource roles such as writing, marketing and finance. The CEO of Monkeybin Studios felt compelled to issue a formal apology today for a misdirected outsourced marketing initiative that back-fired on his company.

Oslo, Norway - Monkeybin is a small, independent game developer for iOS and Android platforms, based in Norway; being a small team, dedicated to the actual developing side of the business, they often have to outsource roles such as writing, marketing and finance.

It's easier to do that these days with plenty of freelancers available overseas and online, but it can also be difficult to monitor.

A perfect case in point was for the marketing of Monkeybin's new game for iOS called Jumpship Thrust Control 2. The game cost more than $50,000 to produce and so the company was understandably keen to recoup some of that cost via a professional marketing campaign.

They outsourced the job to a private marketing contractor, who proceeded over the next week or so to contact game review sites, requesting reviews of the newly released game. He attached 2 sample reviews to the emails and requested that, if the reviewer was pushed for time, they could copy and paste snippets from the email into their review.

A few of the better review sites understandably took issue with this and published article criticising the practice.

One reviewer from Lazygamer wrote: "To be frank, I'm flabbergasted and find this whole exercise wholly insulting....Monkeybin...you ought to be ashamed of yourselves."

Ben Dodson wrote an article called "How not to ask for an iOS app review - A review of Jumpship Thrust Control 2" which was also quite scathing of the approach.

Although CEO Haakon Langaas Lageng has already approached those sites with a personal apology he felt it necessary to issue a more public apology by saying:

"He (the contractor) was free to do the promotions the way he thought would be the best, since we were pressed for time and focused on other projects. It resulted in methods that are not up to Monkeybin's ethics or standards, and not at all how we want to be perceived by the gaming community."

He added: "As the CEO of Monkeybin, this is, of course, completely my responsibility. Unfortunately, what was happening slipped my attention until yesterday."
