Charging cord for my iPhone

Posted by: "Diane" dianewithrespect2008@yahoo.com   dianewithrespect2008

Hello everyone-

Very new to this group! I have a question in regards to my iPhone 4. Learning new things everyday!! My question is: I have had my iPhone 4 for a little over 6 months and within the last week, all of the sudden my charging cord plugged to the phone has a message stating that this device is not supported by that acessory! What does that mean exactly and how do I stop this from happening? Thank you all so much for your responses! I hope to hear from you soon

Thanks again!

Diane

Is it an apple cord? Is it damaged anywhere?
Mine is now saying that after it got frayed near the end that goes into the phone.

It's not an apple cord.

What do I do now?

I unplug, then replug. I then place gently on the desk.
If it doesn't get moved while charging, it does just fine. I do know I have to replace it though!

It's a bug on the software side of the iPhone. It's a infrequent one but does happen. Just unplug the phone, wait a second and try again.

If frayed, replace. Same with anything power related. Worst case you don't want a fire truck turn up to you burnt home because of a $20 cable.

I have also seen that message appear on devices with very small amounts of
water damage to the data port or debris build up inside the data port.

Blow it out with some canned air if you have some or simply take an old
tooth brush and clean it out. Dont use anything other then the toothbrush..

Unfortunately, I believe the camera kit is iPad only. Photo Stream enabled, will share photos across both devices. Just be sure they are saved from Photo Stream to the iPad. 😉

Does the same apply to the iPhone 4s for setting up 9-1-1 calls?  I looked in Settings under every heading, didn't find anything.

I understood to create a contact/911 in CONTACTS The original question was in regard to an iPhone 4. I thought the iPhone 4s might have a special setting for emergency 911. Even my old dumb phone had that.

Try setting up the "emergency" contact with a phone number like 911-1111 and see if that works. I once tried to call a friend with a phone # of 391-1xxx on a cordless phone and it didn't catch the first digit. I dialed the whole rest of the number and was very surprised to find myself connected to ems instead of my friend.

Older phones had it. It was part of speed dial. Newer phones do not have it.

In the early days of 800MHz analog cell phones - pressing & holding the "9" key would auto dial "9-1-1"
PSAPs (Public Safety Answering Points) around the country quickly pressured the manufacturers to remove that feature - WAY too many "butt-dials".

Deleting an Event on iPhone 4S

How do I delete an event directly from my iPhone calendar? The User Guide for iOS 5 gives a procedure that works for iCal on my Mac, but obviously doesn't apply to the iPhone calendar ("Tap the event, tap Edit, then scroll down and tap Delete Event.").

Thanks,

I used to have that problem with my old iPhone (3GS). But it was resolved with iOS 5. It does work on my 4S.

Well, when I tap an Event on the calendar on my iPhone, an Event Details screen opens immediately. I never get an Edit choice, nor can I "scroll down" anywhere to find a Delete Event button to tap. I have a '+' symbol in the upper right of the window on the screen, so I can add events, but nowhere can I find a way to delete an event.

I must be missing something here, but I don't know what it is.

It will be interesting to see if this works.

I normally stay in month view, and with iOS 5 I get the edit and delete buttons as described.
