Thanks to both of you. It only took an hour or so for me to complete
the ID thing. Those cqptchas are evil for blind users.
I too tend to stick to what I know and until I get my own Touch, will
use the USB port.
I did find a group for blind users so will probably sign out of this
one. At least I got started. ;)

You don't have to leave here if you don't want to. :-)
There may yet be questions we can help you with.
I though captchas had some accomodation for blind users. Perhaps they do but
the developers didn't ask any (or enough) actual blind users if they were
all that easy to use.
Have fun with your new toy!

Ok I will stay here. Who knows I may need help. That was tongue in
cheek for I know I will be asking more quesitons. ;)
Captchas are evil. Some are worse than others. The audio versions would
be useless for the hearing impaired for I have been told that even those
with normal hearing have trouble.
Anyway, its done. Found some missing apps I lost when I was learning to
clean up the desktop.
Ok one thing I will ask before I hit the sack. One of the uses for the
Touch is to have it read (VoiceOver) recipes to me while working in the
kitchen. Either txt or doc format, whichever is easiest to navigate. I
want to be able to touch the screen as little as possible while I repeat
parts as needed. I think putting a lanyard on the device is my best bet.
Can you tell me which app would work well? I may need to try one out for
best use with VoiceOver but no problem (AppleVis is a site that provides
user reviews). I am so used to a computer with keyboard that using a
touch screen will be uhm, different. ;) But for this reason, the Touch
may be perfect in the kitchen.

Captchas have an audio version too, for which you can select.
