How to Customize Your ‘Slide to Unlock’ Knob Posted: 30 Jan 2012 05:00 PM PST ColoredKnob is a perfect example of the adage that simplicity = generally awesome. Placing a colored slide to unlock nub on an otherwise overcast iOS lock screen looks incredible, as you’ll no doubt agree from our photos and video. As most of you know, I pride myself in maintaining the stock iOS water droplets wallpaper, which isn’t the most interesting piece of work on the block, in fact it’s quite snore-worthy. That's why I like this tweak so much; add it to the stock wallpaper, and bam, it’s a whole new work of art. Don’t believe me? See for yourselves…(...) Upcoming Jailbreak Tweak Promises Deep Siri Customization Posted: 30 Jan 2012 03:31 PM PST If you’re looking to customize Siri on your jailbroken iDevice, then there are already a few options available on Cydia. AssistantExtensions, and SiriToggles are perhaps two of the best examples of Siri customization on a jailbroken device, but there’s one in the works that’s looking like a winner as well. Indeed, MySiri — an upcoming Siri tweak — promises to add a ridiculous amount of end-user control to the Siri interface. Co-developers Andrea Oliva & Akhil Tolani provided us with a sneak peak of the upcoming tweak. Check inside as we give it the full video preview…(...) You Can Now Manage Your Sprint Account From Your iPhone Posted: 30 Jan 2012 03:22 PM PST Everyone needs to be able to keep tabs on their smartphone account. Even Sprint customers – we love you really! – should be able to take their iPhone and keep up to date on just what is going on with their Sprint accounts. Now they can. Sprint has today launched its own iPhone app called “Sprint Mobile Zone” and it’s actually a rather nice looking affair. More importantly, the app actually has some useful features, with the ability to access your Sprint account not the only thing you’ll be using Sprint Mobile Zone for…(...) Protect Your iPhone Screen with More Glass! Posted: 30 Jan 2012 02:49 PM PST Nobody without a medical condition can seriously claim the iPhone’s all-glass construction was a particularly good idea. While many of us have iPhones that have survived some considerable hammering, plenty have reported of cracks and scratches from the most inconspicuous of goings on. There are already plenty of screen protectors out there that claim to keep your iPhone’s glass face in pristine condition, but none have grabbed our attention quite like the Spigen GLAS.t has. For starters, the cover itself is made of, wait for it, glass! Yup, you read that right. Not just any glass though, this thing’s made of tempered glass which is just, well, better…(...) Verizon Shared iPhone and iPad Data Plan Coming Soon? Posted: 30 Jan 2012 01:49 PM PST Many customers have both an iPhone and an iPad 3G that they use on the same network. This requires users to pay for separate data plans, but according to a leaked training manual this could soon change on the nation’s largest carrier, Verizon. According to Engadget, who leaked the flier, users will only have to pay a single $9.99 a month fee for one load of data that can be shared between both the iPhone and iPad. In May of 2011, Verizon’s CFO Fran Shammo hinted towards this rolling out, but offered no time frame…(...) Rumor: Apple Reaches iPhone 4S Agreement With China Telecom Posted: 30 Jan 2012 01:15 PM PST Apple sold 37 million iPhones last quarter, making it the top smartphone manufacturer in the world by volume. But interestingly enough, the record-breaking number didn’t include any sales from mainland China. With nearly a billion wireless subscribers, China is a major opportunity for Apple to increase its handset sales. And it’s already starting to make its move. Earlier this month Apple launched its iPhone 4S on China Unicom, and now reports are coming in that it’s reached an agreement with China Telecom to do the same…(...) How to Fix White or Missing Icons on Your Jailbroken iPhone? Posted: 30 Jan 2012 12:20 PM PST Ever since I jailbroke my iPhone 4S using Absinthe, it has been behaving a little weird, sometimes displaying white icons or even transparent icons for certain applications. It seems that this issue only affects Apple’s stock applications such as the Phone app, Calendar, etc. I can’t really pinpoint the issue. Is it because of Absinthe? Or is it because of a package I have installed from Cydia? While I’m not really sure what causes this problem, I have found a simple trick to fix the blank or missing icon dilemma…(...) Apple Uses New Lottery System to Combat iPhone Scalpers in Hong Kong Posted: 30 Jan 2012 11:30 AM PST Earlier this month, Apple released its popular iPhone 4S handset to long lines in mainland China. But launch day didn’t last very long, as riots broke out in front of multiple Apple Stores around Beijing, forcing them to close. Scalpers were believed to be a major factor in the riots — they buy iPhones and other gadgets and sell them for a profit on the grey market. But it looks like Apple has found a way to keep them from causing any more problems…(...) "Apple Uses New Lottery System to Combat iPhone Scalpers in Hong Kong" is an article by iDownloadBlog.com. |
