Everyone of them has a cell phone, they charge them in a little
building near the road that would look to the average person like
an outhouse, but it has a solar panel near it and it charges their
cell phone. If they have a barn, then they put the cell in the
barn to charge it from the generator that they use to keep the
milk cooler going... they will use electricity when it is
convienent for them, just not in their house. oh, and just so that
you know, nearly all of them have indoor pluming which includes
running water.... they are not backwards, just smarter than a lot
of the English.

I didn't know the Amish used cell phones. I thought they
wouldn't because it would take their attention away from God and
onto the secular world.

I thought data and calls was GSM only. I'm on AT&T and can do
both at the same time. Friends on Verizon can't.

my wife got a 3g replaced with a 3gs when they did not have a

us... we were leaving from the store for a vacation.

Subject: [apple-iphone] Camera & replacement question
My iPhone 4's camera does not work. It'll flip around and take a
picture of me but will not take it the other way. I'm heading to
the genius bar on Friday.
The phone was purchased in June/July 2011.
I'm curious though...has anyone gotten a phone upgrade from
Apple when they went in for a repair?
Will it be worth it to cross my fingers, toes and anything else
to hope for a 4s? :)
Thanks
TL

Most Apple stores are well stocked with replacements for this type of
situation, so I wouldn't get your hopes up. Not to say it's never
happened, but I wouldn't count on it.

My malfunctioning 4 was replaced in minutes. I have Apple Care so it didn't cost me, but if I hadn't been covered I just would've had to pay $150 for it.
They might not be so well stocked on older-than-4 models. And 4S is hot enough that it's probably in shorter supply too.

I have had Sprint and Verizon. AT&T is much better for me. They communicate with me much better than the other two. I had two phones with Verizon. Getting away from them was a terrible and frustrating chore. They billed me continuously for money I didn't owe. They charged me an $175 for leaving one month early (I thought I was doing what I needed to but didn't dot all my "i's". They charged me the same amount again although I did do everything I needed to do. I finally got that amount back. I also got a little more in a class action settlement later. They hid the ball and all of their many mistakes were in their favor. My sister-in-law got a Verizon iPad. She got them to set it up for her and sold her mifi to connect her 3g to the internet. I got on the phone with them and pointed out that she didn't need it. They took it back but charged her a restocking fee because of "company policy." I told the guy he worked for a bad company.
Sprint sold my wife a "smart" phone a few years ago through Radio Shack. The guy at Radio Shack seemed to know a lot about the phone and how to set it up. There was never any mention that it did not work with Macs. I spent a long time on their website and then on the phone with them before they even told me it didn't. When the contract was near the end, I took it to a Sprint store to get some kind of software fix. The guy told me this had never been a very good phone so I should get a new one that works better. I asked him why I should trust a company that sells me a bad phone to sell me one now that was good?
Years ago, when AT&T was Houston Cellular, I swore I would never have anything to do with them again. I think their association with Apple improved the way they work with customers. They now let you reduce or increase your plans without any penalties. That is huge to me. Their website lets me do almost what ever I need to and I can get most of the information I need from it. I send them lots of money every month but my main complaint is how much data my grandchildren use, not how AT&T charges for it.

A method to block spam calls

I have the iPhone 4. Is there a method to block incoming calls from knuckleheads?
I've assigned the same ring tone to this group of DNA deprived life forms, but they still tie up my account and call time with a message that I have to then partially listen to before I can delete it.
Is there an app that acts like a guardian to auto delete the call once the number is determined?
I've contacted my cell phone provider, Telus in Canada. But I have to speak to people in the Phillipines which is where their service centre is. Great if you speak Tagalog, but not so great if you speak the King's English.
I am seriously considering going to the police with an annoying or harrasing calls complaint, since I get them twice a day.
Anyone else here have a similar problem you solved? How did you do it?

Here is an off the wall idea…, change your iPhone # then transfer your old cell number to google voice. Google voice can screen your calls in several different ways…… maybe you can forward your cell number to Google voice then screen it then forward it back.

Does Canada have the equivalent of the US "Do Not Call" list? If it does, you can register with the service.

I'm about to become an iPhone user. What is the best way to move bookmarks and stuff to a new iPhone4s from a BlackBerry curve 8530 before activation? How can whole files be transferred? I will have to relinquish possession of BlackBerry to get the refund.
