They will need to manage time and resources in order to build their pit as deep as possible, to attract Pit Fiends who inhabit the abyss. Fiends in turn can be sent out to fetch the naughty and nasty souls of school bullies, Internet trolls, unfunny clowns and more. Once these sinful souls are collected, the player can punish them by playing a variety of minigames in order to reap the rewards that will help further develop the pit.

As soon as we are engaged in active reading and problem solving, even when it is as simple as reading instructions and ordering numbers, our mind becomes fully awake. It is Effective Alarm's job to make sure the users are engaged long enough in these activities until they are fully awake.
Simplicity is the best form of sophistication. As the Screenshot 1 shows, Effective Alarm features a simple and professional looking user interface. It has the familiarity of the regular iPhone alarm yet it improves on the ability to really wake up its users. The alarm is fully configurable, adding settings to set defaults tunes and E-Mode activity intensity.
The app also allows for the creation and management of multiple alarms. Each one of them with different specification and requirements. Screenshot 2 shows a list of alarms and how the users could set and unset the E-Mode, as well as activate or deactivate the alarms, right from the main screen. Alarms can be set for one time only, or as recurrent events, by selecting the days of the week the users wants to be notified. This can be seen in the youtube video below. Moreover, each alarm can have its specific description so that users can identify each notification.
Although Effective Alarm is an alarm created with heavy-sleeper in mind, the app also supports the creation of regular reminders. "Reminders" are alarms without the E-Mode activated. These reminders will notify the user without the mind activities and can be used as a substitute for the regular iPhone alarm.

This application is the first clock that tells kids who can't tell time, how long they have to wait before waking up the rest of the household. Designed by a teacher for her own daughter, the app uses the metaphor of a field of sleeping sheep to explain when children should go back to bed and when it's ok to wake up in the morning. When all of the sheep wake up and leave the field, it is time to wake up.
West Hartford, Connecticut - Harpers Ferry Software today is pleased to introduce Back to Sleep 1.0 for iOS. Mara Lieberman enjoys her daughter waking her up in the morning, except when her daughter chooses 4am to do it. "It's not her fault" says Lieberman. "My daughter is too young to understand a regular clock."
Desperate for a full nights sleep, Lieberman created an app for her iPad that explains to her daughter how long she must wait before waking up the rest of the household. Today, she made Back to Sleep for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch available to other parents on the App Store.
"My app uses the metaphor of a field of sleeping sheep to explain to my daughter when she should go back to bed and when it's ok to wake me in the morning. My daughter knows that when all of the sheep wake up and leave the field, she can come wake me."
"Back to Sleep is a regular part of my life now. Every night, before I go to bed, I launch the app and plug in my iPad on my daughter's nightstand. In the morning, she returns my iPad at an appropriate hour. I get two things: a fully charged iPad, and a full night's sleep."
Lieberman's inspiration for the app comes from more than sleep deprivation. She's a certified school teacher and a licensed family therapist. "I wanted to help parents by making it possible for their kids to succeed. Children develop the discipline to follow instructions long before they develop the ability to tell time from a clock. The Back to Sleep app gives kids an effective way to gauge the passage of time."
To accompany today's release of Back to Sleep, Lieberman produced a website and a short video about the app. Back to Sleep is available in six languages so that parents around the world can get a full night's sleep.

Twocanoes Software today announces the arrival of Boot Runner, a startup solution for multiple boot Macs. Boot Runner is used to quickly and easily select OS X or other OSes from a startup screen and Finder menu bar. Boot Runner's Volume Selection Screen is fully customizable and designed for individual Macs user all the way up to large organizations. Boot Runner also provides the ability to manage boot settings through network policy.

Boot Runner features a drop down menu bar for quick selection and detailed information for multiple boot Macs running OS X and Boot Camp. Boot Runner also provides a fully customizable startup screen where users may select and start operating systems. With custom backgrounds, scrolling text, popover text and more, Boot Runner's Selection Screen can be tailored to any purpose.
Each Boot Runner setting can be managed via network policy using client management consoles.
