iPhone Misbehaving

Hi all,
For some reason my new iPhone won't let me listen to a radio station through Live365 app without having to have the app displaying on the screen, music just fades out to silence. My iPhone has never done this before.
I've looked at the settings for both the iPhone itself and for the app but still cannot find out why my iPhone is doing this.
Even as an Apple fan I might just get my money back and go Android instead!

Wow. I didn't even know the live365 app was available. Surely would
help the dearth of decent radio stations. I'll have to check it out. I
did download the I (heart) radio app which was cool for listening to my
favorite AM sports station here in LA. My other MP3 player/recorders
only pick up FM.
I'm sure an Android phone might be fun and I'm a very recent convert to
the iphone but I wouldn't trade it.
I'll download the app and see what I can figure out, although I'm a
lifelong PC guy.

Can't find an 'App Box Lite' in the store, Otto. Is that the actual
name of an app?

OK, I get it. I thought 'app box' was a small collection of apps that
you download to your device, and expected that to be the name of the
collection. When I saw 'Box.net' come up I didn't think it was what I
was looking for.
Thanks,

It is. On my iPhone I have an app called AppBox Lite. It contains Currency,
Date Calc, Days Until, Holidays, Clinometer, Loan, Price Grab, pCalendar,
Tip Calc, Unit, and links to AppBox Pro and Air To-Do.
If I type "appbox" into App Store > Search, it is the very first hit.

How about that! I typed "app box" into App Store>Search and AppBox
doesn't even show up. The space between 'app' and 'box' makes all the
difference.

Yes, it does, and I was sloppy in adding a spurious space in an earlier
post.
I must say, however, that many others are sloppy when giving us the names
of apps and I *always* try spelling variations, in/excluding spaces if I
don't find it straight away. ;)

I don't want to just sync the book on iTunes and read it on my desktop computer, I want to be able to send the book via email to someone else. Therefore what I want to save the book to the desktop and then attach it to an email. The books are primarily epub books.
Thanks, hal

Apple Store Grand Central Closer to Opening
Posted by: "Bill Boulware" bill.boulware@gmail.com boulware0224

Sent to you by Bill Boulware via Google Reader: Apple Store Grand
Central Closer to Opening via 9to5Mac by idannyocean on 11/8/11
Apple is beginning to prepare for the upcoming holiday shopping season
by putting the final touches on several retail locations and
reinventing the way their visitors buy Apple gear. Most notable is
opening up a flagship store in New York's iconic Grand Central Station.
Why is Grand Central such a big deal, especially when there are already
Apple Stores in New York in affluent neighborhoods? Here are some quick
facts on Grand Central:
- 750,000 people pass through Grand Central daily and over 1,000,000
people during the holidays
- Mean household income for Grand Central Terminal commuters is
$95,800; 50% of household incomes are over $100,000, and 20% are over
$200,000.
- The captive shopping population of more than 326,000 neighborhood
office workers earn a combined $11.3 billion a year.
- An average 7,500 people an hour pass the corner of 42nd Street and
Vanderbilt Avenue, making it one of the busiest intersections in the
city.
- 21.6 million out-of-town tourists, with a mean income of $62,000,
visit Grand Central each year.
- Grand Central is served by Metro-North commuter trains, 31 commuter
and 15 city bus routes, 7 subway lines, buses to and from the area's
three airports, and two million taxis a year.
- Grand Central Terminal subway station is the busiest stop in the New
York City subway system.
The future Grand Central Station Apple Store is progressing towards an
end of November opening. Future employees for the store have been going
through their "Core" training for the past several weeks at a hotel in
Times Square, Midtown Manhattan…
Core is a training program that every new Apple employee goes through
which covers customer service theories, product knowledge, and retail
operation policies. The training consists of presentations,
role-playing, and even a workbook. Upon completion, the employees will
disperse to existing local Apple stores to shadow current employees and
even help their first customers. The last step before opening the store
will be when the employees help bring in product inventory, and put up
Apple visual merchandising including the beautiful window displays,
large banners, and miscellaneous marketing collateral. While we believe
the most likely opening date is the Saturday before Black Friday, it's
important to note that this is a flagship store and will not open until
it is absolutely perfect.
Putting together Apple's new commuter-friendly Apple Store app features
with one of the biggest Apple Stores in the world and placing that
where more than a million affluent holiday shoppers pass by every day
is a recipe for success.

Going through Ipad 2 withdrawal

I didn't realize how addicted I have become to my iPad2 until it got
drenched in my backpack with the contents of my daughter's water
bottle. It's been stuck in a box of rice since Saturday and I'm
hoping it will eventually become okay.
However I never realized how often I have been using it and that it
has mostly replaced my laptop as my primary device in which to read
newspaper articles, access facebook, search and read e-mails (I still
prefer writing e-mails on the laptop).
I'm hoping that when I try again in a couple of days the iPad will
work again.

air get to it as possible, disassemble if you can. The biggest problem is
likely to be the camera sensors. Hopefully they didn't get too wet. But,
if you are like me, I never used either the front or rear cameras anyway.
I know what you mean about depending on a portable device, but I ditched my
iPad (not pocketable, no Flash and no 4G, but a great screen) and iPhone
(good screen but too small, no Flash and no 4G) and seldom use my MBP - my
Android phone with a 4.3" screen gets all the use now.
I am holding out hope that someday the iPhone grows up with a bigger
screen, Flash and LTE. Probably as likely to happen as orderly OS updates
and vendor bug fixes on Android. Mobile (or should I say portable), at
least for me, is where it is at.

Oh my - I do sympathize - I too am addicted to my iPad 2. Don't know what I'd do without it. I use it for Words With Friends (keeping in contact with my sister via a scrabble-type app), Kindle app (my Kindle device broke it's little cursor button and although it works it's hard - it was old), I read the news on the iPad 2 and play around a bit with Facebook (minimum user). This summer I went for almost 3 months using the iPad alone and it was fine - except yes, I prefer the desktop for email. The only thing I'm really not happy with are the blog apps. I use Word Press and have the hardest time keeping the password set and can't seem to upload photos. I shouldn't really complain - the iPad wasn't designed to do what I was trying to do this summer - (everything).

Hopefully they too will recover though it was in about 2 inches of
water in the backpack for about 30 minutes. Could be less since I
don't actually know when the water spilled out.
I actually use the camera's a lot. I Skype and Facetime with my
parents so they can see their grandchildren and my kids talk to their
cousins that way.
I also use the rear sensor to take video at the kid's events.

That's the way Apple is. I hope they don't change. I got a brand new iMac on the last day of my old iMac's Applecare last year. I've used Apple products for many, many years, and if they don't change too dramatically, I'll stay.

A few per cent bigger is likely within a year or so.

office excel to mac

Hi, I'm new to mac having always used windows previously. I transerred an excel worksheet to the mac and it retained all the information except for page breaks. Can anyone please tell me how to set up a page break within a work sheet (in order to achieve a break) between months for instance?
Thanks

Hi David,
I've got Office 2004 so it may not be exactly equivalent. You can go
to the View command on the top and one of them should show you a Page
break preview. Once you see the page breaks you can click and drag
them to set your page breaks.

iPhone Told Off and Seems OKAY

Hi all,
I don't really know what I did, but somehow shortly after posting my original message my 3rd iPhone 4 started to work correctly. I won't be buying a new one until shortly after my warranty runs out.
As for the Live365 app, that's been on the store for about 2 years now - best way in my opinion to listen to internet radio!

Huh. I go to the App Store and search for Live365 and nothing is found.
I go to their web site, and it's all music for sale from different vendors.
I go to Radio in my iTunes, and can't even search - Search is grayed out and Live365 doesn't seem to be present.
How in the world did you connect to it?
(frustrated)

Large iTunes Library
Posted by: "D. Brett Woods" brettlyw@mac.com brettlyw

Hi all,
I have a large iTunes library on my iMac. Approximately 1.14 TB.
I have less than 500 gig left on the iMac hard drive.
Soon I will run out of room as I add more things to the library.
Any suggestions on how to manage / move a large iTunes library.
Am trying to do this the easiest / simple way possible. I'm not in to managing this thing like crazy. That's why I got a Mac!
All thoughts welcome.
Thanks,
Brett

That is half the size of your current library but regardless you can but an
external drive and consolidate the library to it in just a few clicks (and
let it copy)
Sent from a mobile device, please ignore any autocorrected or typographical
errors.

I read online that the Lion OS has included extra language capabilities, including Hungarian. Does anyone know that to be the case? Im still with the 10.6.8 OS.
Thanx. Oneal
