Apple, themselves, are having a 'Black Friday' sale. Check it out.
iPads are one of the most discounted items, supposedly.

From what I can tell, the .me address is part of iCloud. IMO it's a
fantastic service. You can just opt out of what you don't want to use.

That doesn't read well for me.

Your address is already "@me.com". So... what conversion to iCloud are

I understand the question, but I don't have the answer.

I have a me.com address as well, but I haven't upgraded yet. I'm assuming there will be no change to the service, but I have no first-hand experience with that.

I have had a LaCie cased WD drive for 10 years that is still going
strong. It's amazing how the industry has changed. I had, at that
time, bought a 500 gig (huge for the time), and a 250 gig. The 500
comprised 2 250 gb drives. The 250 one. The 500 failed after about a
year and was not covered under warrantee. The 250 is still at my side
and going strong. I dislike WD drives right now, but back then they
were 'aces'.

Further... if you have any or all of your applications set to
auto-update or check for updates, then they will poll the mothership for
new versions that might be available. The frequency of this is at the
whim of the apps programmers and not the same across the board. Software
update services will also access the web regularly. Personally I update
manually. I have to be disciplined to check regularly for mission
critical apps and at least a couple of times a year for not so important
ones. When I update/upgrade my operating system, I then check for all
things to be compatible. Just because an update or upgrade is available
today does not mean it's a good one or stable one, much less one that
will still work with the current OS.

Finding Library

Posted by: "Ken" avlisk@cox.net   avliska

Thu Nov 24, 2011 3:38 pm (PST)

Just upgraded to a Lion computer. Therefore, I deleted some PowerPC programs beforehand. However, when I start up the Lion computer, I get a window that says a startup item called
~/Library/StartupItems/NUDC isn't valid. I thought I trashed all the NowUPtoDateContact things when I deleted the program. Apparently, this one thing found its way to the new Lion computer. I tried searching and I did the "option GO" thing to find Library in the GO drop down menu, but can't find the NUDC thingy or the Start Up Items.

Anyone know how to remove this from StartUpItems and where to find StartUpItems? Thank you.

Go to:

Apple menu --> System Preferences --> Accounts --> Login Items tab

To delete a login item, click on it once to select it, and then click
on the "-" box.

No problems in 10.5.8, but this is day 2 of new MacBook Air with Lion, and things aren't going well. I can't find my photos anywhere. Where did they go? How do I get to them?
