Site is back up...I thought this would get a lot more "airtime" here.

Makes me a little nervous with my unlimited plan....but would be nice.

Does anyone know the answers to the following:

Will it tether via wifi or only if plugged with USB
Is there a way to get it to work on Ipad....or will this app
transfer over when backed up and used that way

The pressure

Thanks

Bill

I am holding off until I make sure what Apple does. The app
needs to check in with the website every time its used and if
Apple/ATT/Verizon or Sprint does anything to shut it down I
don't want to be out $15 for a couple days use.

I used tether for years when I had a BlackBerry. It worked great and cost $50 when I had it.

AirPrintActivator vs. Printopia 2 for Lion

AFAIK, I correctly installed AirPrintActivator in my iMac/Lion, and my iPhone said that it was contacting the correct printer, but nothing was ever printed.
I installed the Printopia 2 Demo, and printed from my iPhone without a problem.

Has anyone been able to make AirPrintActivator work with Lion? If so, what's the trick?

My AirPrintActivator works fine, but the initial instructions I read said to turn off my iMac's firewall. I did that, but later turned it back on. I can still print from my iPhone4 and my iPad2.

They did all that for me at the Apple store however, you do need to deactivate your old phone. I found this out when trying to use my old one when the battery was too low on the new 4s phone, can't do that once the new phone is activated. Call your carrier and ask for help. I'm with Verizon so I call directly from my cell phone, 611 for instant customer service.  Or go to a store for you carrier.  Or call Apple.

It probably depends on the carrier. I ordered a 4S Saturday From AT&T
and they sent me a link to activate the phone. The phone arrived
yesterday (really quick). I used the link which registered the phone and
then transferred my apps/photos/settings from iTunes. By the time that
was done the phone was activated and the old phone deactivated. Piece of
cake.

iTether now unavailable in App Store

Sent to you by Brent via Google Reader: iTether now unavailable in App
Store via TiPb - The #1 iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch blog by Rene
Ritchie on 11/29/11

iTether is currently showing up as unavailable in the iTunes App Store.
iTether, which was approved and released yesterday, let users tether
their laptops to their iPhones without having to pay any additional
fees to carriers. Another tethering app, Netshare, was approved and
then later removed in 2008.

Whether iTether has actually been removed by Apple or the developer,
temporarily or permanently, remains to be seen but the developer has
claimed they were in communication with Apple throughout the app
approval process. If Apple couldn̢۪t have, or simply didn̢۪t want iTether
in the App Store, it̢۪s strange they̢۪d approve it at all.

More as this develops…

in App
Store via TiPb - The #1 iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch blog by
Rene
Ritchie on 11/29/11

iTether is currently showing up as unavailable in the iTunes App
Store.
iTether, which was approved and released yesterday, let users
tether
their laptops to their iPhones without having to pay any
additional
fees to carriers. Another tethering app, Netshare, was approved
and
then later removed in 2008.

Whether iTether has actually been removed by Apple or the
developer,
temporarily or permanently, remains to be seen but the developer
has
claimed they were in communication with Apple throughout the app
approval process. If Apple couldn̢۪t have, or simply didn̢۪t want
iTether
in the App Store, it̢۪s strange they̢۪d approve it at all.

More as this develops…

Wouldn't you rather just keep the app and use it since you bought it?

As long as you bought it, it will always work.

Not this one. It needs to connect to a third party server
every time you start it. That's one reason I did not buy it,
it's to easy make it useless.

Roger, it also does not work... Thus without any kind of support, it is $15 down the drain.

Yes but iTether will support it just like they do for their Blackberry users.

It works for sure... I would suggest the tether.com support site.
I don't know what your configuration is, but I simply followed the directions and wham it worked.

iTunes syc WiFi

If I elect to sync to iTunes over WiFi, can I select the playlists? I have a 16GB iPhone (Which actually says 13.4GB in the iTunes window when connected) so I would not want to have all my music going to it. the 4 playlists I have would be good enough.

Never did it yet, and wanted to ask before activating Wifi sync.

Report: Microsoft Office for iOS coming sometime soon

Posted by: "Bill Boulware" bill.boulware@gmail.com   boulware0224

Tue Nov 29, 2011 12:30 pm (PST)

http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/9To5Mac-MacAllDay/~3/ExOZbp1BYAM/

Sent to you by Bill Boulware via Google Reader: Report: Microsoft
Office for iOS coming sometime soon via 9to5Mac by Jordan Kahn on
11/29/11

After telling T3 they were considering it, a report from The Daily
claims sources have confirmed Microsoft has an iPad version of its
Office app in the works alongside a new Lion compatible version of the
desktop suite. Up until now the iWork suite of appsâ€" Keynote, Numbers,
and Pagesâ€" have arguably been the go to productivity apps on iOS and
the counterpart to Microsoft Office̢۪s dominance on OS X and Windows
PCs. If implemented well, we could see Office for iOS eating into some
of Apple̢۪s and the iWork suite̢۪s user base. Microsoft is expected to
introduce the app(s) at a similar price point as well. The Daily
reports:

It̢۪s assumed that both of these would work with Office 365 as well as
mobile versions, such as Windows Phone̢۪s Office Hub. Because it would
be compatible with these full suites rather than as stand-alone apps,
the pricing will most likely be significantly lower than existing
Office products. In fact, it̢۪s likely the cost will be around the $10
price point that Apple has established for its Pages, Numbers and
Keynote products.

There has, however, been some conflicting reports regarding whether or
not Microsoft is actively developing the app. In April 2010, president
of Microsoft Corp.̢۪s business division Stephen Elop (now CEO of Nokia)
said they would take the “wait and see” approach when it comes to
supporting iPad telling Bloomberg, ”We never say never, but we have no
current plans”. At that time, spokesman for Microsoft’s Apple/Mac
Office division Kristen Woody said the company didn̢۪t have anything to
share in terms of their plans for iOS development. We̢۪ll keep you
updated when we learn more.
