Have you clicked iTunes Store and signed in? If you keep yourself signed in all the time, I would then log out of the iTunes Store and sign in again. If that doesn't work, I'm sure others here will have suggestions :-)

Have you ever wanted to make useable Home Screen icon for shortcuts and/or Home Screen folder icons but didn't want to jail-break your iPhone to do it? Now you can. I found a nifty 99 cent app that will let you do just that. Its called Icon Project. It's a fun app. I keep forgetting where a few things are in my iPhone settings, so I made icons for them. This app works pretty good on the iPad too but there are a couple shortcut prefs listed that don't work on the iPad.

I'm giving you two links. One to the app in the app store and the other to the website that has a video on how to use the app and a list of commands to link your icons to things on your iPhone.

address book sync

Before I upgraded to iOS5, whenever I input anything in the address book on my iPhone, it updates the one on my Mac when I sync. After IOS5, whenever I add or correct an entry on my phone, it doesn't reflect on my Mac anymore.

How do I correct this? I don't want to input on my phone then input again on my Mac. It defeats the purpose of syncing.

Were you set up for wireless syncing before iOS5 through MobileMe? Did you change to iCloud as part of the upgrade to iOS5?

If so did you update to your Mac to sync through iCloud as well?

I updated to iOS5 on my phone but didn't go to iCloud - my sync still works properly.

IOS5 and old email

When I updated to 5 on my GS3, it regurgitated ~1800 old emails, which I had to delete one at a time. Now that my 4S is here and loaded, those emails are back. I've searched the manual and this group w/o success: Is there another way to delete those pesky things en masse?

TIA,

If your emails are on the web (server), you can delete your account from iPhone and delete the emails on the server and then re-create your email account on the iPhone then will be no emails to download again if it is what is happening.

Just got the 4S yesterday.
I did experience this, the Update All Button did not response as it usually would by lighting up. But the update did got through and completed.
This is kind of strange!

Re: Belkin N+ Wireless router problem

This is all rather strange. If there's no padlock, the network is not
protected (encrypted) and no password is required. You should be able to
join it just by selecting it.

I'm also puzzled about a Client ID, and why that would accept the
*password*. Are you sure?

Whatever's going on, it will apply not just to iDevices but to anything
using Wi-Fi.

I'll see what I can find out.

I think the issue is the that the Belkin is set up as a guest network. My home router (Linksys) is set up that way with two networks. One that has a padlock and for which I have to enter a WPA password but another one with no padlock. However when you select that one it pops up with a request for a password. This is a simple phrase to restrict access and once entered, the device has access to the internet but not to the home network and other devices on the network.

I think it works like those terms and conditions acceptances you see when logging in at free hotspots at businesses. My daughter's school has something similar and if you turn off your device or let it go to sleep you need to log back in again. It doesn't remember you.

True — I said it badly. What I *meant* was that I'd checked the time zone settings for many of my individual events, since those can be set to different zones. Thanks for making me clarify my response. :)

iPhone compatible/Bluetooth hearings aids

Is anyone using BTE Bluetooth compatible hearing aids with your iPhone?
I'm about due to upgrade my hearings aids and would like to know others' experiences with Bluetooth (wireless) BTE aids and the iPhone.
I'd like to be able to not only answer calls, but hear music as well.
I have an iPhone4.

I use Oticon hearing aids. They have a device called a streamer that is an
addon. With it you can connect the hearing aids to most Bluetooth devises.
I can receive calls and listen to audio, music and books directly through
the hearing aids. The streamer has a microphone so you can answer calls as
long as the iPhone is within Bluetooth range. Same for the audio. Get more
details by Googling Oticon.

iPhone 4s question regarding storage

Posted by: "Mary Leek" mleek@sbcglobal.net   mleek@sbcglobal.net

I am thinking of purchasing a 4s in order to use the JotNot scanner app for research purposes during trips to the library.

My question is, once I scan and send an image by email to my home computer, does the scanned image remain on the phone? I'm trying to determine just how much storage I will need for the iphone.

My thanks for any advice or suggestions. I so enjoy reading through the posts on this list and thank all of you who contribute to the group. I learn so much from your experience with the iPhone.

Your replies were helpful even though I didn't give enough info, and I have been able to fix the problems (mostly.)  I must have purchased my Macbook Pro just before Lion was released.  It was running Snow Leopard andI didn't purchase Lion or iWork because the upgrades would probably have made my printer and scanner not work.  (Which happened when I upgraded a previous computer.) So now I have successfully upgraded my MacBook Pro to Lion and my iPhone 4 to the latest version.  The upgrade went well and fixed previous problems.  Now I have the new problem: I can't access my important Appleworks documents.  Can anyone tell me an app that will let me convert my Appleworks databases to something I can read?  Thank you so much.
