The inspiring ebook will be understood by kids as a wondrous story, and it will be at the discretion of the parent or teacher reading the book to ask the question, "Who is the Father in this story?"
My Father's Clothes is a meticulously designed ebook from a company that specializes in graphics and animation. Here, they have made an ambitious choice, to rarely repeat any of the interactive animation. For example, after hearing the page aloud, the child is free to touch any of the three fishes or their surroundings. Touching each fish makes a characteristic sound, and each fish can be moved with a touch and drag gesture. To the child's delight, they will find that on each page the fish move differently. On one page, they seem to be held in place by a rubber band, on another page they float like a balloon, and on another page they bounce like a ball.
Every storybook page also includes interactivity with the environment, such as, bubbles in the ocean, shells, fish, whales, buttons, hearts, flowers, and piano keys. On every page, the reader will find many details to discover, many ways to interact with objects and characters, and occasional hidden surprises.
This is a book about beauty, love, and the miracle of Creation, and the artist and writer have harmonized the pictures and words with these themes of the book. It is rare in books for children to encounter what psychologist Romain Roland termed, that "oceanic feeling," the source of all religion. This ebook provides a child's first look into the relationship between their world, Creation, and the Creator. App Works today introduces My Princess Dress Up 1.0 for iPad. With the swipe of a finger, the app gives little girls the ability to dress the Princess up in beautiful gowns, crowns, necklaces, and other accessories like flowers and balloons. Backgrounds can be changed, while regal music plays softly to inspire creativity. Designed to capture a young girls' imagination without a complicated interface, My Princess Dress Up is sure to delight the young princess in your life.
Waterloo, Canada - App Works today is pleased to announce the release of My Princess Dress Up App for iPad, now available in the iTunes App Store and BlackBerry App World. Inspired by paper doll games played by App Works founder's daughter, My Princess Dress Up is sure to delight the young princess in your life. With the swipe of a finger, the app gives little girls the ability to dress the Princess up in beautiful gowns, crowns, necklaces, and other accessories like flowers and balloons. Backgrounds can be changed, while regal music plays softly to inspire creativity.
App Works Director of Design Amanda McInnes said the primary goal with My Princess Dress Up was to create an app that would capture a young girls' imagination, without a complicated interface. "We really tried to create beautiful images little girls would love, while making the app fun and simple to use. The primary age group for the app is two to five years old, so ease of use was critical".
In addition to being a game, the My Princess Dress Up creators also had specific educational goals in mind. Greg Gladman, developer of My Princess App and self-proclaimed geek-dad of a three year-old daughter said: "We wanted to build an app that would enhance development as well as entertain. The process of selecting items from the menu and aligning them with the princess assists with fine-motor skills and concentration, while the ability to mix and match different colours and scenes helps build creativity and imagination."
App Works will be running a sweepstakes alongside the launch of the app beginning in late November. The prize? An iPad 2. The contest encourages participants to create their own princess dress up drawing, either through the application or hand drawn. Participants can then register by submitting their completed princess scene or custom created drawing along with a suggested name for the princess. Entry information as well as the official rules and regulations can be found at the My Princess Dress Up website.
My Princess Dress Up supports US English, Chinese, Czech, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish and Turkish languages.
