My phone goes in my purse (in a side pocket) or my pocket (sweatpants, coat, jacket, whatever) and does just fine sans screen protector. No problem in the 17 months I've had it.

I do have a basic case on it for grip-ability/anti-dropitis.

Guys, for you, putting your phone in your shirt pocket is easy. For us gals,
we usually do not have shirt pockets and the phone goes in our purses. We do
need a screen protector...

Apple Care adds another year. I think this is where some of the confusion may come from.

I recently had my iPhone4 replaced under Apple Care after the sleep button stopped working.

Really?
From <http://images.apple.com/legal/warranty/docs/iPhone_4_warranty.pdf> :

Sounds like it could be lint in the headphone tunnel.  If there's lint in there,
the phone thinks its always got headphones on, so the ear speaker won't work.
Do you have some canned spray you could blow into the hole?

It could be that simple. I hope for your sake.

When it happened to my sister with the iPhone 4 I gave her when I upgraded I searched the problem & ended up on a Apple Forum it listed things like iOS upgrades & visits to genius bars & outright replacement as a result (lucky they were under warranty or Applecare) but the posting that helped the most was right near the end & explained the contacts between the speaker & the motherboard get a bit corroded or something and to place the phone on a firm surface and firmly press around the speaker with your thumbs yes being careful not to press so hard that you break the glass but you can press very firmly the "glass" appeares to flex a little & I assume the speaker below moves as well, subsequently rubbing the contacts back & forth on the board below breaking thru the light layer of whatever it is & reconnecting, for me I fixed the iPhone on about 3rd of Nov & its still working a month later.
Same thing with the phone it was well cared for always kept in a pouch on a belt not in a pocket used sparingly against the ear (bluetooth connected) etc.
I hope this helps
Regards
Stephen

If the accounts are IMAP, that is what they do. You either have to mark them as unread or change the accounts to POP.

I have been with AT&T since I got my first Iphone. Until then I had been with Verizon and most of my friends and family were with Verizon, but that has changed a bit now. Also AT&T has become a bit more user friendly lately allowing calls to any cell phone without using your minutes even to another carrier. I have not been unhappy with AT&T. I am disappointed that they don't offer unlimited data plans (although I am grandfathered in for now, two of my children constantly go over their data plan. There is a new plan out which is more bandwidth and 10 more dollars... so I might consider it, but Im tired of all this data managment. I don't have problems with dropped calls usually although other people have problems with their phones and dropped calls when I get calls from them.

Just remember, according to the commercials on TV, on VERIZON you cannot talk and surf at the same time. For that reason I prefer to stay on AT&T. I don't know what the other carriers do. I know Sprint has an unlimited data plan, but someone told me that they were the most expensive of all the carriers... but I cannot verify that for sure. Just do you homework!

Ellen

I used to use the Callet, but after several months it stretched for no apparent reason and stopped fitting the phone securely. I emailed the company but never received a reply.
