Allan, check in your settings, under "General", "Restrictions". There is an option to restrict the deletion of apps. Make sure that is off.

Have a great 2012!

Brent, sorry for the confusion. I didn't know Bluefire was anything but a reader :-)

No problem on your end Carol.
The problem was on my end speed reading, again.
Thanks for introducing me to a new app.

No Music from 4s
Posted by: "Dave Clark" dc1999@gmail.com dave24c

I have a new 4s, and suddenly all music has failed. I cannot play anything from "Music" to "Pocket Tunes." The device will not play on the stand-alone speaker device. I looked at "Settings" and there does not seem to be anything pertinent that would shut off music.
I've re-started the whole device, still no music.
I tried calling someone's voice mail, and I got good speaker sound from that.
Might some inadvertent water intrusion cause this?
Any suggestions what's going on?
Dave

After doing a Google search, I have not come up with a way to always show my bookmark bar in Safari on my iPhone. All the instructions I keep seeing are Settings>Safari>>General then switch to always show bookmarks. I do not have anything in the general section of Safari about turning on or off the bookmark bar. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I believe that is an iPad setting.

In Safari on the iPhone, there is a place to add links to the bookmarks bar. I don't understand why it would be there if it's only an iPad setting. I can't get the bookmark bar up at all on my iPhone in Safari.

The "Bookmarks Bar" is only visible on the iPhone when you go to "Bookmarks"

iPhone 3G won't update
Posted by: "W4KRR" w4krr@yahoo.com w4krr

Trying to update my wife's iPhone 3G from software version 3.0 to 4.2. (She
doesn't keep up with updates or syncing). I am using the latest version of
iTunes (10.5.2.11).
I did an update of all the apps, and then a sync. I then clicked to update
the iPhone software. A dialog box came up that says, "Backing up XXXX
iPhone". The first green segment of the progress bar is on, and that's as
far as it's gone. The phone itself says "Sync in Progress". It has been
in this state for over an hour, with no apparent progress being made.
What can I do to get the upgrade to finish?
