I thought data and calls was GSM only. I'm on AT&T and can do both at the same time. Friends on Verizon can't.

Sorry, not true. Amish can use cellphones but they cannot charge them via the power mains. Must be charged via batteries or some other way.

our verizon cells worked just fine in the ohio and pennsylvania amish country a couple of years back.

Camera & replacement question

My iPhone 4's camera does not work. It'll flip around and take a picture of me but will not take it the other way. I'm heading to the genius bar on Friday.
The phone was purchased in June/July 2011.
I'm curious though...has anyone gotten a phone upgrade from Apple when they went in for a repair?
Will it be worth it to cross my fingers, toes and anything else to hope for a 4s? :)
