Do you know how much data you used to get into the 5%?

It is amazing that on unlimited it is not truly "unlimited"
It sounds more like a way to pressure you to give up the plan. Does anyone know when a "5%" notice will come. At what point do you hit this marker?

The annoying thing about this to 5% stuff is that it's a slippery slope. If
AT&T is successful in getting folks to cut back on data usage or to go to
other plans, the amount of data it takes to get to the top 5% goes down.
Eventually, it could start affecting today's "nominal" users.

The really annoying thing is not providing a hard number. The "top 5%" sounds like a smoke screen.

You seem to have a problem with correct use of the English language, not with Verizon or AT&T.
"Unlimited" means the size of your downloads is NOT LIMITED.
It makes no claim about *speed*

Irrelevant.
They are talking about ranking all of their users by the amount of data they download, and refer to the 5% of USERS using the most data.
The percentage of data is not being addressed here.

My housemate streams radio programs most of her 40 hours/week at work.
She usually comes in at about 2GB/month.
I can't say I blame the carrier for trying to do something about people who use 3 times that.

I've had this argument with many people. AT&T is lying to all of us. They DO NOT have unlimited Internet service. AT&T is using the word "unlimited" very wrong. Googling "unlimited", here is the meaning (http://www.answers.com/topic/ ) "having no restrictions or controls." Therefore, AT&T should not be throttling anyone with unlimited Internet service. AT&T throttles everyone. It doesn't matter if you have tiered service or unlimited. With tiered service, when you get close to the top gigs your paying for, you get throttled. What I'd like to see, is a non-threatening email from AT&T letting their customers know when they are close to using up their allotted gigs they're paying for. I want to be able to use up all I'm paying for w/o being throttled. I'm paying for it. Comcast/Xfinity does the same. It's VERY maddening. Talking to reps of either company gets you nowhere. I've tried. My hubby pays all the bills and calls the different companies when things are wrong. I had to call both AT&T and Comcast a time or two to talk throttling because he was so mad, he wouldn't have been pleasant.unlimited
Comcast goes one step further. Besides throttling, they periodically reset our modem when we're being throttled. We have a Comcast modem.
I've got AT&T for my cell service. It's great when it works. Throttling Internet on my iPhone sucks, as I'm grandfathered into their unlimited data plan.

So with all this talk about the LIMITED Unlimited plan I decided to check my data usage on the bill and I found something rather odd.
It seems that from Dec 30 to Jan 1 at roughly 1130 hours my phone likes to send a TON of data.
See picture here :
http://www.dfwhamradio.info/ pictures/ phone/phonedata. jpg
(in-case link gets deleted or mods kill it)
20MB on the 30th
17MB on the 31st and
4MB on the 1st
Now I know exactly where my phone was at those times and I know exactly what I was doing with it at those times. I was either asleep or watching the new years TV shows with my phone sitting on the coffee table. Anyone else seeing this kind of activity on their bills?
I bring this up here because if the Empire is going to throttle our usage because we use too much data then shouldn't we know exactly what our phones are doing? Is the Empire making them phone home with bogus data packets to trump our usage to make us switch? Now I know they cant report exactly what kind of data is being transferred but something is fishy here.
I'm running the fallowing:
IP4
iOS 5.01 (jailbroken)
For the record, phone is a brand new install of iOS v.5.01 and I have yet to install any apps on it other then a couple of game apps.

I read something about this on a tech website. That's not good PR. If you offer people unlimited use, how do you get off by "punishing" them for using it? A back door way to force people out of their unlimited plans.

double click the home button then swipe all the way to the left. There is a circle button. That locks or unlocks the orientation.

Then what is the difference between bookmarks and bookmark bar? Both store links. If the bookmark bar can't be brought up like the iPad, why have it? Seems redundant, doesn't it?
