With the style Planes you can also launch rockets. You can also set the lives, if P1 has no lifes left P2 wins.

The app comes with six different maps of which five are locked, and in the version downloaded free from the U.S. App Store, the unlocked map is the U.S. At the start of play, Pin Your World displays the name of a U.S. city or state, which the player must locate on the map and insert their pin into that point. A targeting reticle allows players to zero in on the map, which includes only the boundaries of each state and no text. Players have just ten seconds to align the crosshairs and then press the pin button, which inserts a large pin accompanied by a loud twang.

With the player's pin inserted, the app inserts a pin of its own, a red flag that marks the correct location on the map. A green line between pins measures the distance between the player's answer and the correct answer, and the app awards points accordingly. The shorter the distance the higher the score, and if the guess is more than approximately 500 miles away, no points are scored. The game displays the exact distance and score after each round, and totals the score at the end of ten rounds.

Major cities are generally easier to locate than Midwestern states like Idaho, but whether searching for a city or a state, players will need to think fast to insert their pin in less than ten seconds.

A unique feature of the app, not offered by other similar apps, is the ability to have the app display a notification anytime a scanner has more than a certain number of listeners. This feature is useful in having the app alert the user when something major is going on that might be interesting to listen to (such as a SWAT incident or hostage situation, firefighters battling a large wild fire, public safety personnel dealing with tornado aftermath, etc).

Users of the Android version of the app (named "Scanner Radio") have found the app to be invaluable during severe weather containing tornado outbreaks, when living near major wildfires, and when hurricanes are making landfall. Almond not only removes the need for the intimidating web-driven interfaces consumers have struggled with for over a decade, it removes the need for operating through a PC or Macintosh entirely. Securifi calls it the first router for the post-PC era.

"Few people would buy a microwave that can only be set up using a computer, but everyone quietly submits to this chore when setting up their wireless routers," says Securifi CEO Rammohan Malasani. "We set out to design a full-featured WiFi access point the average person can set up and enjoy in a minute or two. The falling cost of touch screen technology has finally made it possible."

Mr. Malasani insists users of Securifi's Almond router would never have to memorize - or even write down - its IP address. He also notes they're welcome to secure the device with a password they can display as ordinary text. The result of this is that those who forget how they arrived at an exotic password like tlpWENT2m (short for "this little piggy went to market") can simply log in via the touch screen to check it. Moreover, they can easily modify the password or other settings using the touch screen's full QWERTY keyboard.

For all its simplicity, under the hood the Almond router sports a robust feature set. Its two internal antennas, 300Mbps MIMO throughput, full 802.11b/g/n compatibility, industry-standard WPA/WPA2 security, and basement-to-bedroom range match specs from major brands like Linksys or Netgear. Even IT departments and power users may fall in love with Almond's blend of power, flexibility, and PC-free configuration.
