Protestors to Stage Rally in Front of Grand Central Apple Store Tomorrow

It’s been nearly three weeks since the New York Times published its now infamous report on the poor working conditions of overseas manufacturers, and Apple is still feeling the ripple effects. The iPhone-makers were named exclusively in the lengthy article regarding their poor efforts to correct the growing labor problems in China.

In response to the allegations, activists setup an online petition calling for Apple to release a “worker protection strategy.” And not only has the petition collected more than 250,000 electronic signatures, but the activists are about to take their protest to the next level…(...)

Today, more details about the upcoming iPad 3 emerged, when Fix iPhones showed us the supposed back of the iPad 3. In the report, it was noted that the iPad 3 was to have an updated camera, larger battery, and new screen.

To add to the rumors earlier, The Verge has come out with a new report, saying that the iPad 3′s rumored A6 processor will be dual-core, and not quad-core as people have hoped…(...)

Record Labels Being Paid for Individual Songs Played on iTunes Match

iTunes Match, Apple’s cloud music locker, launched late last year with every major record label signed on. iTunes Match costs $25 a year per customer, and allows users to keep every one of their iDevices synced up with music they’ve purchased.

Today, TuneCore’s Jeff Price published a post praising Apple for their payouts to record labels for songs played on iTunes Match. Price detailed the $10,000 he was awarded by Apple, in only two months…(...)

The iPad 3 has been rumored to launch sometime this Spring, but there haven’t been many other rumors besides that. In a new report from Fix iPhones, they show us the supposed backing of the iPad 3 compared to the iPad 2, demonstrating that the new tablet will apparently only have a few subtle changes.

It’s been more than a month since Apple seeded iOS 5.1 beta 3 to developers, and more than three months since it released the first one. So we’ve started wondering, when will we see the next version of iOS?

Judging by Apple’s history, the company is more than likely waiting for its upcoming iPad event to unveil iOS 5.1. And according to the folks over at YourDailyMac, we could see both drop on March 9th…(...)

Rumor: Siri to Gain Support for Chinese, Japanese and Russian Next Month

Siri, iOS’s newest personal assistant feature available on the iPhone 4S, currently has support for English (United States, United Kingdom and Australia dialects), German, and French.

Apple has already promised new languages on their Siri support page, but today, a new report from DoNews (via Tech in Asia) says that Siri will be gaining support for Chinese, Japanese, and Russian next month.

Path Updated, Now Asks for Your Authorization to Use Your Contacts Data

Path was fast at updating their application, following yesterday’s outrage when it was discovered that the app – like many others – uploads you contacts data to their servers without your knowledge.

In a blog post on their blog today, Path CEO Dave Morin apologizes for the misstep and recognizes that the company should have known better.(...)
