Double tap the home button, swipe the dock from left to right and you'll see the lock/unlock icon. If there's a lock on it, tap it to unlock it.

New iPad

Hello everyone:
I have an iPhone 4s and just ordered a new iPad. (never had one before). My question is: when I get the iPad, do I connect to iTunes using my existing account and will all my apps that are currently on my iPhone (and iTunes) then automatically get added to the iPad?
I really don't want ALL the apps on my iPad, only some of them. Or do I create another account for the iPad.
It's very confusing.
Thank you.

Use the same account and manage apps manually. You can easily control what apps go on the ipad. Ditto music photos movies etc
Enjoy!!!

Hi Gail,

Keep the same account. You can choose which apps you want on the iPad, and what apps you want on the iPhone, by going to the apps tab, and selecting or deselecting.

iPunes is smart and will keep both devices separate. Apps that will work for both devices will automagically xfer to iPad. Apps that are iPad only will only appear on iPad. Within iTunes you can uncheck the iPhone apps that you don't want on the iPad. Its easy.

I don't like that iPhone and universal apps automatically go to the iPad or iPhone. I wish there was a way to get a message asking me if I want the app to go to my other iDevice so I can say yes or no.

Just delete them on the iPad and they will never be synced unless you check their boxes on iTunes when syncing. That's what I do and I think that's the only way to do it... for now. You can also uncheck them before syncing.

I think you will need to download iPages first, and then you can email the folder to your iPad and open the files you need.

You can buy the documents to go app for your iPad. They have a free desktop program for your PC/Mac to select the folders you want sync'd to your iPad.

I have two photos that I cannot delete. The are set to remove red eye. Will not get out of this and delete the photo.

Any suggestions?

I bought the Coby Stereo Earphones with Microphone, model CVEM87 from Amazon. Only $10.03, they work great, and the sound is very good. I too have very small ears, and they fit great. They come with a little cloth bag for storage which fits great in my purse.

You aren't the only one with small ears. I haven't found any in-ear or earbuds that don't bug me. That's why I use the old fashioned cans. Music seems to sound much better through them than on a regular stereo. I do have several pairs of Apple earbuds. They come with all iPods and the iPhone. I use them when traveling.
