Is there shareware that I can use to save the vids so I can view them on my iPod touch, or on my computer.
Without watching on YouTube.

No, that's what the YouTube app is for. It comes preinstalled on your iPod Touch.

Try this link on your desktop:

http://www.keepvid.com/

This gives you an interface where you enter the URL of the YouTube video you wish to capture. KeepVid then gives you a download link for an mp4 version of the content. Download the mp4, then import it to your iTunes library. For me, this works about 90% of the time, failure a due to the video poster blocking such access.

What browser are you using? If I use internet explorer Real Player has a
popup box on the video that asks me if I'd like to
download it, that's the easy way and Real Player is free too.
