iPad event demo game Sky Gamblers now available

As noted by MacRumors, the simulator known as Sky Gamblers: Air Supremacy has just gone live in the App Store. You might recognize the game from Apple’s iPad event last week, as it was one of the titles demonstrated on stage.

So what’s so special about Sky Gamblers? Well besides being one of the first apps to take advantage of the iPad’s new features, its developers are saying that the game delivers “console quality single and multiplayer experiences.”

Walmart to start selling new iPads at midnight

Yesterday we told you Apple confirmed that 8am on March 16th was the official launch date and time of the new iPad. But it appears that other retailers are looking to get a head start.

The folks over at Insanely Great Mac are reporting that some Walmart stores are planning to start selling Apple’s new tablet as early as 12:01 am (local time) tomorrow morning…(...)

If you were thinking that the new iPad‘s lack of a redesigned body or quad-core CPU was going to affect customer demand, think again. In typical pre-launch fashion, lines are forming around the world for Apple’s new tablet.

Although most retailers won’t be opening their doors until 8am tomorrow morning, some stores have announced that they will start selling the new iPad as early as 12:01 EST here in the States…(...)

For those of you wondering how Apple managed to keep the iPad’s legendary 10 hour battery life despite the addition of a Retina display and LTE technology, we’ve come across a good explanation: the battery is a lot bigger than its predecessors. Surprise!

How much is a lot? Well according to the recent iFixit teardown, and other reports, the new iPad’s battery has roughly 70% more capacity than the one used to power the iPad 2. But unfortunately this also means that it takes a lot longer to charge…(...)

Flight Control Rocket released for iPhone and iPad

As expected, Electronic Arts and Firemint have released Flight Control Rocket, the sequel to the very addictive Flight Control. The app is available as a universal download from the App Store for $0.99.

Sparrow video review

iOS’ stock email app is lacking in the user experience area, and the folks behind Sparrow have successfully capitalized on the default app’s shortcomings.

Unfortunately, while it succeeds with flying colors in a multitude of areas where the Mail app stumbles, it’s still not quite ready for primetime due to a few essential issues.

Sure, Apple may have released Siri without all of the functionality that we’d like. But luckily, for those of us who are jailbroken, Cydia has a plethora of tweaks and add-ons available that make the digital assistant much more capable.

Such is the case with SiriSports. The new tweak, developed by Evan Coleman, adds the ability to look up sport scores and game times for your favorite professional team in the MLB, NBA, and NHL using Siri-flavored voice commands…(...)
